During perimenopause and menopause, changes in energy, sleep, recovery and strength can make your old training routine feel very different.

You may be exercising harder but feeling more exhausted, frustrated and unsure about what your body actually needs.

Pregnancy and I? We got along really well. 😄🤰🏻

I spent a weekend at a meditation retreat in the Blue Mountains, just me, the stillness, and him moving around like he was already trying to escape 😂 I went dancing forró. I took the train to Melbourne. I kept working until two weeks before he arrived.

And yes, I was doing massages with a belly so big it would gently rest on my clients' heads mid-session. 😅 Nobody complained. I like to think it was a bonus.

But honestly? I loved every bit of it. Feeling him move. Knowing he was there. Carrying life while still fully living mine.

I share this because I work with women in perimenopause, a season that, like pregnancy, brings changes you didn't fully sign up for. Your body shifts. Things feel unfamiliar. And it's easy to feel disconnected from yourself.

But your body is not failing you. It's moving through something.

If pregnancy taught me anything, it's that the body knows more than we give it credit for. 🙏

Are you in perimenopause and feeling disconnected from your body right now? Come talk to me,that's exactly what I'm here for.

There is a particular kind of frustration in doing what used to work — and seeing your body respond differently.

It can make you question your effort, your discipline and even yourself. But a changed body does not mean a failed woman.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop repeating the old strategy and choose support that fits the season you are in now.

The 21-Day Reset begins in September: small daily habits, short workouts, supportive nutrition, mindset tools and a community beside you. Join for $97 AUD through the link in bio.

I used to think if I just explained things better, he'd understand.

But some things aren't about explaining, they're about someone choosing to stay curious, even on the days you don't have the words.

If you're the partner of a woman in perimenopause (or you love someone who is), swipe through. This one's for the ones who show up without needing a perfect explanation.

Comment GUIDE and I'll send you my free Perimenopause Reset Guide.

Some people leave and take a piece of the room with them.

This is my cousin. The one who made the whole family laugh without even trying. The one who moved to Australia with me, cooked for me, took care of me, because that was his love language: feeding the people he loved.

He went back to Brazil and built something beautiful cooking at major events, feeding important people, doing what he was born to do. A film lover. A storyteller. A light in every room he walked into.

He used to tell me I inspired him. That he looked up to me. That watching me go after my dreams made him believe in his own.

And here I am, still going, carrying him with me.

He was taken from us by violence in São Paulo. Too soon. Too unfairly. And not a day goes by that I don't feel that absence.

But I believe he still guides me. From wherever he is now, I know he's watching, probably making someone up there laugh, and cheering me on.

This one's for you, primo. Thank you for believing in me. I'll keep going for both of us. 🙏

Sono no climatério... for a long time I just wasn't sleeping — light sleep, waking up in the middle of the night, tired all day for no clear reason.

These are the 5 shifts that actually moved the needle for me. None of them are complicated. All of them together made the difference.

She used to teach 15 Zumba classes a week. She even taught while pregnant. She memorized 12 choreographies per class and gave 100% every single time so her students would give 50% 😅

That woman is me. And this is her throwback 💃

Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, so when a friend introduced me to Zumba during massage school, it was a done deal.

Now I'm on the other side of the room, a student again, learning something new, and feeling every bit of humility that comes with it. The respect I have for good teachers? Immense.

And for you, my perimenopause community: your body still wants to move. It might just want to move differently now, and that's completely okay.

Find your dance. Find your people. Show up,

With Love,
Ana Lopes

Motivation is a wonderful feeling. But it's a terrible strategy.

If you've been waiting to feel ready before taking care of yourself, you may end up waiting much longer than you need to.

Real transformation doesn't come from one perfect week.
It comes from hundreds of small decisions repeated over time.

Some days you'll feel energised.
Other days you'll feel tired, busy or overwhelmed.
That's normal—especially during perimenopause.
The goal isn't to be perfect.
The goal is to keep showing up in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.

One workout.
One nourishing meal.
One good night's sleep.
One healthy decision at a time. Because consistency always wins.

✨ Curious about how your current habits may be affecting your symptoms?
