Make your health a priority.

Free bowel cancer screening test kits are sent to people aged 50-74 in NSW every 2 years. If you’re aged 45-49, you can request a kit now: www.cancer.nsw.gov.au/dothetest

Doing the bowel cancer screening test is:

✔️ Quick
✔️ Easy
✔️ Potentially lifesaving.

Yet only 2 in 5 people in NSW are reported to return their kit.

June is and we’re encouraging you to make your health a priority and do the test.

Free kits are sent to people aged 50-74 in NSW every 2 years. Plus, if you’re aged 45-49, you can request a kit now.

This week is Men’s Health Week and an important time to reflect on your health.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and accounted for almost 30% of male cancer cases in 2023.

Find more info on prostate cancer at the Cancer Institute NSW website:
www.cancer.nsw.gov.au/about-cancer/types-of-cancer/prostate-cancer

More men’s health resources are available here:
www.health.nsw.gov.au/men

Sadly 1 in 5 men in NSW will get prostate cancer by age 85, but having the right information can help.

Many prostate cancers do not cause symptoms in the early stages, but there are some symptoms to look out for:

➡️ Problems passing urine
➡️ Having to pass urine more often
➡️ Not being able to wait to go to the bathroom
➡️ Pain or burning when passing urine
➡️ Blood in the urine or semen
➡️ Pain in the lower back or hips
➡️ Tiredness, shortness of breath, weight loss or dizziness

is a great time to learn more and be proactive about your health. Speak with a GP about any symptoms or concerns.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that makes it harder to stay focused, manage restlessness, and control impulses in everyday life.

New reforms are strengthening the role of GPs in supporting people with ADHD in NSW.

These changes are giving people with ADHD more choice and support in diagnosis, treatment, and day-to-day management of their condition.

To find out about ADHD care options near you:
- talk to your regular GP
- visit https://aci.health.nsw.gov.au/projects/adhd-in-general-practice/find-a-prescriber to find a GP who can continue your treatment, or
