Myth: “You need to roast almonds to get their nutritional benefits.”

You may have heard that roasting almonds improves their nutrition by “activating” nutrients or breaking down compounds such as phytic acid, which can bind to minerals like iron and zinc.

But the truth? 🙌 Both raw and roasted almonds provide plenty of nutritional benefits, including:

✅ Healthy fats
✅ Plant-based protein
✅ Fibre
✅ Vitamin E
✅ Magnesium

The biggest difference isn’t whether they’re raw or roasted — it’s often what is added during processing.

⚠️ Flavoured or heavily salted roasted almonds may contain extra sodium, oils or added ingredients that can change their overall nutrition profile.

So, whether you prefer raw or roasted almonds, the choice ultimately comes down to taste, preference and what you enjoy eating consistently. 💛

Myth: “Everyone should take a probiotic for gut health.”

Not necessarily! 🙌

While there is evidence that specific probiotics can be helpful for some people and certain gut symptoms, they aren’t something everyone needs to take for good gut health.

Probiotics are live microorganisms found in foods such as:
🥛 Kefir and yoghurt with live cultures
🥬 Fresh kimchi and sauerkraut
🥤 Kombucha

But supporting your gut microbiome isn’t just about probiotics. Dietary fibre and prebiotic foods are also important for nourishing the beneficial bacteria in your gut 🌱

✨ A varied, balanced diet rich in different types of fibre and fermented foods can be a great foundation for gut health — without automatically needing a probiotic supplement.

💡 Remember, gut health is individual. What works for one person may not work for another.

Have you ever wondered whether you actually need a probiotic? Let us know below! 👇

Myth: “If I’m lactose intolerant, I need to switch to plant-based products.”

Busted! 🙌

Being lactose intolerant doesn’t necessarily mean you need to give up dairy. Lactose intolerance means your body has difficulty digesting lactose, the natural sugar found in milk — it’s different from a dairy allergy.

Many people with lactose intolerance can still enjoy:
✅ Lactose-free milk
✅ Lactose-free yoghurt
✅ Hard cheeses such as cheddar, parmesan and Swiss, which are naturally very low in lactose

These foods can provide important nutrients including protein, calcium, vitamin B12 and iodine 🦴💪

Plant-based alternatives are another option, but they aren’t automatically necessary. If you choose them, look for products fortified with calcium and vitamin B12, and choose unsweetened varieties where possible.

💡 The right choice comes down to your individual tolerance and nutritional needs.

Did you know you could still enjoy dairy when you’re lactose intolerant? 👇
