We had one of those moments last week that stops you in your tracks - the kind that reminds you why we do what we do!

One of our incredible 78โ€‘yearโ€‘old participants had his final review with his Orthopaedic Surgeon after a knee replacement. Heโ€™s been working through the ๐—ช๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ, showing up, doing the work, and rebuilding his confidence step by step.

At the appointment, the surgeon looked at him, looked at the progress, and said:

Far from it. Functional movement is simply about training your body for the everyday tasks that matter mostโ€”bending, reaching, stepping, lifting, and staying steady on your feet. It focuses on natural, practical movements that build strength, balance, and confidence.

Exercises like sit-to-stands, step-ups, wall push-ups, and gentle rotations help keep your joints mobile and train your muscles to work together. This type of training supports long-term independence, reduces the risk of falls, and makes daily life feel easier and more enjoyable.

What an energising day for the Wini Health team! We had the absolute pleasure of visiting our trusted partners at VitalCall and getting a rare behindโ€‘theโ€‘scenes look at the heart of their operation - one of two Monitoring Centres.

And wowโ€ฆ it was fascinating!

From the moment we walked in, we could feel the purpose and care that drives their team. Seeing how every call, every alert, every interaction is handled with such calm professionalism and genuine compassion was incredibly inspiring. These are the people who pick up the phone when someone needs help mostโ€ฆ and they do it with warmth, speed and absolute dedication.

One of our favourite moments? Standing in front of their wall of positive feedback - a whole swathe of handwritten messages, thankโ€‘yous, and stories from members whose lives have been touched by VitalCALLโ€™s support. It was impossible not to smile. Itโ€™s the kind of wall that reminds you that good people doing good work really does make a difference.

However, this loss is not evenly distributed.
