We had a staff dinner and meeting at a local bistro last night. We discussed our future direction in the current challenging NDIS climate and also shared our cases to learn from one another. All of our therapists are enthusiastic, empathetic, funny, and easy-going — such a precious team!

(Marie left a bit earlier, and I forgot to take a photo before she left 🥲)

Wonderful catch-up yesterday - thank you for visiting our new centre! We used to work together at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre with our dear late mentor, Robin Howat, many years ago. It was so special to reconnect and reflect on the core values of music therapy we’ve carried with us since then. I left feeling really positive and grounded. It’s such a precious connection - supportive, nostalgic, and just lovely.🥰

Beautiful lookout, peaceful bush trail, and it’s dog-friendly! 🐕
One of our client’s support workers showed me this lovely spot today, so Harry and I couldn’t resist a little visit during our break🐶🚶‍♂️
Moments like this remind us how important it is to pause, connect with nature, and recharge 🌱✨

Alan restarted his music therapy, joining one of our group sessions after some time away. It was so lovely to see him re-engage in the group setting, reconnecting through music.

He enjoyed exploring instruments and activities he used like. It was also wonderful to see him sharing quiet moments of interaction with new peers, building connections through music.

We’re so happy to have him back and look forward to seeing his continued growth and enjoyment in music😊

"Inside a Music Therapy Room" series🎶
The best purchase when we moved to the new venue last year is a trampoline and a ball-pit!😆
Jumping with live music helps develop rhythm, coordination, and self-regulation while having fun! It can also boost dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins — elevating mood and reducing stress.

The ball-pit offers a calming sensory space for rest, imagination, and connection.

Sometimes music therapy starts with a jump… or a dive into the ball-pit! 💜

Have a look at our latest YouTube video 🎬✨
This is Luke and Izumi’s improvisation recorded for the Art & Music exhibition, “Echoes of Firecrackers,” held in Chatswood in January-February, as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations. During the exhibition, visitors viewed Luke’s painting while listening to the music through headphones.
The exhibition photos are followed by the music video — please watch until the end 😉

The painting was originally created several years ago. Luke painted it to the sound of Izumi’s piano, using his sight cane as a brush, with his art mentor, Zac Fenn. The black-and-white composition represents the piano keys.

For this exhibition, their collaboration evolved further. Izumi improvised on the piano, exploring the contrasting modal keys of the white and black piano keys to musically express Luke’s visual work. Luke responded enthusiastically to these transitions, joining on the snare drum and engaging dynamically with the shifting harmonies and textures. Luke’s snare drum also evoked the sound of firecrackers, reflecting the theme of the exhibition.
Their performance unfolded as a moment-to-moment synchronisation — a living dialogue that united Luke’s visual art with their shared improvisational language.
