Sydney Royal Easter Show Art preview night was amazing. Such a privilege to be part of the exhibition with two of my works. Got to celebrate with my loved ones last night and the works are up and available for purchase throughout the easter show.

My Archibold entry > "Colours Reframed - Carlo Velayo"
I would never have thought I would ever be able to enter such an art competition like the Archibold, let alone dropping off my own piece of work to ! Though this week I did just that - such an amazing surreal experience.
Incredibly lucky Carlo said yes to me creating a piece about him. Carlo is a talented Film, independent Spirit Award Nominated Producer. Included in the work is his documentary of his work in Happy Jail currently on Netflix. Carlo is a loving man to his partner Matt (rainbow rose), equally proud person of colour who was born in the Philippines who grew up in Australia (shirt colours) and is now in the US (eagle wing). His current film, Nurse Unseen which we all need to check out and upcoming project Tropical Gothic, which is Isabel Sandoval’s next film about colonialism in the Philippines but is really an allegory on colonialism, which is so pertinent in Australia’s history and the history of the world.
Can't believe I had the opportunity to do this and thank Carlo so much for letting me paint him.
