Sams Cancer Journey

Sams Cancer Journey Hey guys this is a page where we’ll be sharing Sam’s journey of life….the good & bad!

19/05/2026

Dear Sam,

Today marks a year of you gone but it still feels like yesterday.
Navigating this first year has been tough for every single person who knew you & it’s been a different journey for every single one of us.

Grief comes & goes in waves….& shows up as something different each time like emptiness, love, pain, empathy, uncertainty, anger, confusion, gratitude, frustration, loneliness, togetherness & sometimes it’s all these things wrapped up in a big ball.

I think the “firsts” were the most confronting & confusing because you don’t know what to do with the emotions you’re feeling at times because it’s hurts so much😞

I will never understand why because there’s no answer that could possibly bring any peace but for me as much as my heart is broken something profound changed in me like a life lesson you didn’t know you were teaching & I didn’t know I needed to learn….
so for that I am grateful❤️

We all know that one day the hurt & pain will be released as you were from yours & replaced with love, joy & more laughter (which we still have it’s just more hurt right now).
We still laugh about your last Christmas & getting bogged but the pain still follows that & one day that won’t be so but for now we’ll take it as it comes.

You truly were one of a kind & are missed beyond belief.

We love & miss you everyday……Forever 50🕊️🪽❤️

Loads of love,
Your little sister Bel ###

Happy Easter sis🐰
I’m sure you’re up there eating your Cadbury bunny & saving the rest for later like you did when we were kids❤️
Another first without you in it….still doesn’t hurt any less for us but know we think about you all the time.

We love you🪽💜

Today was a really sad day that would’ve been Sam’s 51st birthday.
We spread Sam’s ashes in the ocean which will hopefully bring some peace to us all now she’s fully at rest.
It was not without laughter as Sam would’ve loved that I fell into a rock pool so I know she was laughing & smiling down on us today.

We love you Sam Happy Birthday❤️🙏🏼

Forever 50🕊️

Hey Sam this was the first Christmas without you.
It’s been 7 months since you left & the feelings of hurt, emptiness with the hole you’ve left have yet to change but constantly evolving.

We know this will be the many of the firsts we’ll have without you in them but it’s still so fresh & reminds us that you’re not here.
We know you’re always with us & that it takes time & now the undertanding is clear of how everyone grieves differently is clear.
For some it’s just time, others it comes in waves, some is all the time, some is locking up their grief, some is focusing on always moving forward no matter the pain they’re feeling, some is having triggers that remind us of you (always at the most inappropriate of times….which is you all over), for some it’s being in a crowded place & still feeling that deep sense of sadness & loss but putting on a smile.

You leaving has been different for every single one of us but know we think about you all time in all our moments because you’re a hard person to let go of❤️🙏🏼

Merry Christmas Sam🎄❤️🙏🏼🥰

P.S….to anyone reading know your grief is your own & you’re doing the best you can even though it hurts. Grief has no time limits & for some doesn’t get easier or less confusing so be gentle on yourselves & others because they may not show you they’re grieving as letting it out hurts.
Just because someone isn’t openly grieving like another doesn’t make them any less hurt.
Love yourselves & each other ###
