Ever been told your symptoms are โ€œnormalโ€ but your gut says otherwise?

Thatโ€™s happened to me many times. Here's a few times it was really not ok!

1. As a child
Going to the bathroom twice a week.
โ€œThis is normal, kids are fussy eaters. Give her porridge and bran.โ€

It wasnโ€™t normal.
It was gluten intolerance, and the bran made me inflate like a balloon.

2. As a young adult with PCOS
Severe period pain, sometimes passing out in class.
โ€œNormal with PCOS. Take the pill.โ€

Common, yes. Normal, no. And I knew from experience the pill didn't work for me.
After fixing my diet and gut health, my pain dropped from 10/10 to 4/10 within three cycles.

3. During Covid lockdown
Sudden exhaustion and weight gain.
