Join CCLSA NSW for an engaging, evidence-based CPD evening exploring the diagnosis and management of aqueous deficient dry eye with optometrist and CCLSA NSW Committee Member, Mark Koszek.
Using the DEWS III framework and practical clinical cases, Mark will provide a clear, end-to-end approach to assessing and managing aqueous deficient dry eye, including how to:
👁️ Differentiate aqueous deficient dry eye from evaporative and mixed presentations
🔍 Interpret Schirmer testing, tear meniscus height, tear break-up time and ocular surface staining
🧠 Recognise links with systemic autoimmune conditions, including Sjögren syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis
💊 Develop evidence-based treatment plans using lubricants, immunomodulators and advanced therapies
🔬 Explore the role of punctal plugs, scleral lenses and platelet-rich growth factor treatments
Whether you manage dry eye regularly or are looking to strengthen your clinical confidence, this session will provide practical strategies you can apply immediately to improve patient outcomes.

Join us for an informative evening with Adjunct Professor Hemal Mehta presenting on New Treatments for Geographic Atrophy and Dr Robert Chong presenting on Causes of Vitreous Haemorrhage. This practical session will focus on recognising key clinical signs, interpreting modern imaging, understanding the latest evidence for emerging treatments, and knowing when timely referral can make a difference.
Learn how recent advances in complement inhibition are changing the outlook for patients with geographic atrophy, including which patients may benefit from treatment, how to counsel them regarding expectations, the treatment burden, and potential risks. Ever found yourself second-guessing whether it’s a chalazion or a hordeolum? Unsure when a red, swollen eye needs urgent hospital referral, or where oral prescribing fits into the management of anterior eye disease?

Join us for an engaging and interactive CPD seminar with Dr William Trinh, OAM, OD, as he explores the diagnosis and management of common anterior eye conditions; from everyday eyelid disorders to sight-threatening corneal diseases, including neurotrophic keratitis.

Through practical clinical cases and evidence-based discussion, Dr Trinh will cover the pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and management of a range of anterior eye conditions. Learn how to distinguish between commonly confused presentations, formulate appropriate management plans, recognise when urgent referral is required, and gain valuable insight into the role of oral prescribing in anterior eye disease.
