Over the last couple of years our partner support group ASPIA has undergone some changes. We are now operating under the name Aspia Partner Support and we have a new and updated website at www.aspiapartnersupport.com.au

If you have a partner who you believe has the characteristics of Autism Spectrum/Neurodivergence we have articles, professional recommendations, links, a book list, etc. We also meet for lunch every three months in Sydney.

A place for validation, information, inspiration, mutual acknowledgement and understanding for those who are in a long-term relationship with a neurodivergent adult (formerly Asperger Syndrome, formally Autism Spectrum Disorder/ASD).

Some thoughts that have been rattling around in my head and heart for a while and that finally found their way onto the page and my website as a new blog piece. It's been a while since I've written, life blew some fog across my landscape for a while, but as is always my intention, I hope my words will help to validate and support those who read them🌿

Same word, different use. One is an adjective, one is a noun. One describes, one names or labels. One describes the nature of a situation. Talking with others who've lived the experience provides much needed "validation", the process of restoring confidence in one's own perception of their experience and personal truth. Sanity saving and stabilizing, opens the door for the possibility of personal healing and the recovery of strength to make decisions and move forward.

With the celebration of our 20th Anniversary providing partner support in Sydney, ASPIA will now be changing to small topic-focused support group sessions through Carol Grigg Counselling 🌿
