Ever worried… “Am I making enough milk?” 🤱💭

You’re not alone—this is one of the most common concerns I hear from new mums.

If your baby is:
Feeding often
Cluster feeding
Wanting extra cuddles
Seeming unsettled at times

…it doesn’t automatically mean low milk supply.

Normal newborn behaviour can sometimes look like “not enough milk” when actually your baby is doing exactly what babies are designed to do ❤️

Signs your baby may be getting enough milk:
âś” Plenty of wet nappies
âś” Steady weight gain
âś” Alert awake periods
âś” You can hear swallowing during feeds

If you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or getting mixed advice—evidence-based support can make all the difference.

Today is International IBCLC Day đź’ś

Behind every IBCLC are hundreds of hours of study, over 1000 clinical hours with families, and a rigorous international exam. But more than that, it is a profession built on compassion, dedication, and the deep belief that every mother deserves skilled support.

Because while breastfeeding is natural, it doesn’t always come naturally.

Every day, IBCLCs sit beside mothers who are exhausted, worried, in pain, or doubting themselves. We listen, guide, support, and remind them that they are not alone. We celebrate the first latch, help through the tears, and work through the challenges together.

Being an IBCLC means showing up for families during one of the most vulnerable and powerful moments of their lives — the beginning of motherhood.

To all the incredible IBCLCs around the world supporting mothers and babies with knowledge, patience, and heart — thank you for the work you do every single day.

And to every mum on her feeding journey: you deserve support, evidence-based care, and someone in your corner.

Happy International IBCLC Day đź’ś

Before you supplement, pause for a moment.

Low supply isn’t always low supply.

Sometimes baby isn’t removing milk effectively.
Sometimes the flow is too fast.
Sometimes feeds are short but frequent.

And sometimes you just need support — not more formula.

Supplementing isn’t failure.
But let’s make sure we’re solving the right problem first.

If you’re unsure what’s really going on, you don’t have to figure it out alone 🤍

Breastfeeding is natural… but it’s not always easy 🤍

As a lactation consultant, here are 3 things I wish every new mum knew:

✨ 1. Pain is NOT something you just “push through.”
Breastfeeding should not cause ongoing ni**le pain. Pain is usually a sign that something needs adjusting — latch, positioning, tongue function, or supply.

✨ 2. Fussy baby doesn’t mean low milk.
Cluster feeding, growth spurts, and evening fussiness are NORMAL. Your milk doesn’t suddenly disappear at 6pm.

✨ 3. Your body was designed for this — but support makes all the difference.
Breastfeeding is a learned skill for both mum and baby. You don’t have to do it alone.

If you’re a new mum struggling quietly… I see you 🤍

💬 Comment “HELP” and I’ll send you one practical tip to improve your next feed.
📌 Save this for later.

Domperidone (Motilium) & Milk Supply — What You Need to Know ✨
Domperidone can support milk supply only when the breasts are being well-stimulated and well-drained.
It won’t fix latch issues, tongue-tie, long-standing low supply, or structural breast causes.
Think of it as a boost, not the main solution.
Always check with your healthcare provider before starting any medication. 💗🤱

A deep latch = less pain for mum + more milk for baby.

New to breastfeeding? You're not alone.
Breastfeeding is natural—but it’s also something you and your baby learn together. 💞. The good news? These are all fixable.
