BBQ Wednesdays are the best at Homewood! 🌭🍔

It’s a wonderful time for residents and staff to come together, share a meal, enjoy a laugh, and make great memories. There’s nothing better than good company, great conversation, and delicious fresh food cooked on the BBQ.

Some highlights from another wonderful week at Homewood! 🎉☕

We celebrated several birthdays, including Pam’s, who treated us to a beautiful rendition of Take Me Home, Country Roads. Residents also enjoyed coffee and lunch outings, plenty of exercise, and lots of fun and laughter along the way.

🎉 Double the celebrations at Homewood! 🎉👑

Today we celebrated the King’s Birthday in true royal style while also wishing a very special Happy Birthday to our wonderful resident, Maro! 🎂🥳

Residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with cucumber sandwiches, games, laughter, and plenty of fun. Of course, no royal celebration would be complete without crowns, and our residents wore them proudly as they joined in the festivities. 👑

A big Happy Birthday to Maro – we hope your day was as special as you are! 🎈

💪👏 A big thank you to our wonderful on-site Physio, John!

John is always finding fun, creative ways to keep our residents active, mobile, and engaged. Whether it’s group exercises, strength and balance activities, or simply encouraging residents to keep moving, his passion for helping others shines through every day.

Staying active is so important at any age, and we’re grateful to have someone as dedicated as John supporting the health, wellbeing, and independence of our residents.

🇮🇹🎉 Che giornata fantastica at Homewood! 🎉🇮🇹

Today we celebrated Anna and Jimmy’s birthdays in true Italian style with a wonderful Italian Morning Tea! 🥳🎂

From delicious pizza, arancini, Italian biscuits and plenty of other tasty treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🍕🍪❤️

A special highlight was seeing our amazing Vicky, who stole the show dressed as a giant pizza! 🍕😂 Bellissima! She definitely takes home the award for Best Dressed today.

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter and residents sharing stories while celebrating Italian culture. La famiglia, il cibo e gli amici – family, food and friends – are what it’s all about.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, whose numbers continue to grow. Your generosity, kindness and enthusiasm make such a difference to the lives of our residents every day. We are so grateful for everything you do. ❤️

❤️ A lovely Homewood moment.

Ashlee always brings so much warmth and care to our residents. Whether helping with Activities, supporting Maintenance, or simply sharing a smile, her flexibility and kindness never go unnoticed.

Here she is enjoying some of the delicious food from our monthly BBQ with our lovely new resident, Jane.

Some of the fun we’ve had over the last few days! Certainly one of the highlights was the Lebanese drumming by Amanda, who entertained us all. It was fantastic to see the residents and staff dancing together and having such a wonderful time.

Yesterday we celebrated International Nurses Day and recognised the incredible care, compassion and dedication our wonderful nurses bring every single day at Homewood.

We are so grateful for the amazing job they do supporting our residents, families and team. We know how lucky we are to have such a committed and caring workforce, with more than 40% of our staff having been part of the Homewood family for 5 years or more.

To celebrate and thank our amazing nurses, we made sure every nurse enjoyed a yummy donut treat throughout the day 🍩❤️

We were also delighted to welcome the wonderful
Fiestaville Choir a multicultural choir with members from diverse backgrounds and while most of the songs they sing are in English, they also perform songs in Mandarin, Māori, French and Spanish. Thank you for bringing such joy, music and energy to our residents and staff — it was truly a lovely afternoon for everyone involved. ❤️

Today at Homewood we celebrated the birthdays of Doreen Jinks and Irene Matheos with plenty of smiles, laughs and birthday cheer 🎉

We also enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day high tea with yummy brownies, sweets, tarts and of course the well-made team’s special coffee ☕🍰

It was great to have some wonderful volunteers come and celebrate with us. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special for our residents ❤️
