Navigating training when you find out your pregnant can be just as confusing as figuring out what to do postpartum. Here are the questions I would ask you if you were my client:
1. If you are someone that was regularly engaging in routine physical activity, you are well and truly able to maintain that baseline throughout majority of your pregnancy. A lot of your training will now become symptom/capacity limited e.g. changing body position due to growing bump, or adding more mobility and focus on pelvic girdle pain.
2. This is probably the most important one - the priority for your body is to pretty much be an incubator for this new life. this takes up A LOT of energy. Adapting your training intensity, frequency, and sometimes every type can be helpful to maintain and manage your mental health and daily routine when pregnant.
3. Prenatal conditions do come with some extra support that your OB or midwife will help you navigate, when it comes to exercise monitoring for abnormal pain, nauseousness, and fatigue is important with these diagnosis’

POV: Mat Pilates at Enriching Health

Our Mat Pilates is run by our very own senior exercise physiologist, Ellena. Aligning yourself and increasing your mind muscle connection.

Mat Pilates runs every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm and every Saturday at 9:15am.

Enjoy all three classes, plus a private sauna a week for $49 a week with our Wellness Membership. Private health insurance rebates are available for casual classes only.
