When Walt Disney first let down the drawbridge from Sleeping Beauty’s Castle some 70 years ago, he dubbed Disneyland “the happiest place on earth”. And in more recent decades, for Birdie Wren, Walt’s description has rung very true.

Chatting with , the content creator and mum of four shares how she’s found her way back to her happy place since her central line and feeding tube entered the picture. And how she can tube-feed on almost every ride while she’s there.

“The only one I won’t stay hooked up for is The Incredicoaster since it goes upside down. Other than that ride, though, it comes everywhere I do!”

Brb, re-reading our interview with Amelia McCann, mum of this cheeky little trio of lads.

When asked how she felt when one of her sons, Pat, got his feeding tube, Amelia said:

“At first, I think there was a bit of denial, I kept thinking ‘this is only temporary’ and without a diagnosis it was a blurry road. No one really plans or prepares you to tube-feed your child but, with time, we started to see the tube as a positive thing for Pat – to accept it and now be so incredibly proud of it. And him!”

Five-year-old Scarlett Ward has racked up some miles. From Deep Creek Lake in her home state to Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach and all the way to Disney World in Florida.

“Scarlett absolutely loves to travel,” says her mum, .

“Every time we come home from a trip we always say, ‘We need to do this more’. The endless packing, the checklists, and the double and triple checking is certainly overwhelming but once we realised that it was worth it, the fear of travelling no longer held us back.”
