Central and Eastern Sydney PHN is a not-for-profit, regionally based primary health care organisation working with local GPs, Allied Health and community health care providers. About us
Primary health networks (PHNs) have been established with the key objectives of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for individuals, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes. O

ur vision
Our vision is supporting, strengthening and shaping a world class, person-centred primary health care system. We work to achieve this by working directly with all key players including general practitioners, allied health, nurses, secondary care providers, local health districts and hospital networks, local communities and non-government organisations to ensure improved health outcomes for people living and working in our region

Our region, our community
The Central and Eastern Sydney catchment spans 632 square kilometres. Our region stretches from Strathfield to Sutherland and as far east as Bondi. We are the second largest of the 31 primary health networks across Australia by population, with more than 1.4 million individuals residing in our region. The region encompasses 16 local government areas as well as Lorde Howe Island. Our region aligns with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Sydney Local Health District boundaries

A significant milestone for mental health care in Sydney’s east.

Today, CESPHN joined New Horizons and Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Su***de Prevention, The Hon Emma McBride MP, to officially open the Bondi Medicare Mental Health Centre.

We extend our sincere thanks to Aunty Maxine for her meaningful Welcome to Country, and to Matt Thistlethwaite MP, Allegra Spender MP and Rabbi Mendel Kastel OAM for joining us to mark this important occasion.

Commissioned by CESPHN and funded by the Australian Government, the centre provides free, walk-in mental health support for adults aged 18 and over, helping ensure people can access support at the right time, in the right place, and in a way that meets their needs.

No appointment. No referral. Just support when it’s needed most.

✨CESPHN Annual Practice Managers Forum 2026✨

Last Friday, we welcomed Practice Managers and primary care leaders from across our region for a day of learning, collaboration and connection at CESPHN’s Annual Practice Managers Forum.

Under the theme Leading Change in Primary Care, attendees explored practical approaches to accreditation readiness, quality and safety, privacy governance, artificial intelligence, chronic condition management, data-informed decision-making and innovation in general practice.

The forum also provided an opportunity to hear directly from practices driving innovation and to share insights, challenges and solutions with peers from across the region.

Alongside engaging presentations and discussion, attendees connected with colleagues, explored CESPHN programs and resources, and reflected on strategies to strengthen practice sustainability, support their teams and improve outcomes for patients and communities.

Thank you to our presenters, attendees and CESPHN team for contributing to a valuable day of shared learning and leadership in primary care.
