Happy Father’s Day!

Today, we celebrate all the amazing dads, grandfathers and father figures who bring love, strength and support to our families and communities.

A special acknowledgement to the fathers and father figures of our Help on Wheels participants. Thank you for the care, encouragement and advocacy you provide every day.

This World Spinal Cord Injury Day, we recognise people living with spinal cord injury and the importance of accessibility, independence and the right support.

This year’s theme, “From Awareness to Action: Ten Years Advancing SCI Prevention,” reminds us that raising awareness is only the beginning. Creating safer environments, improving access to the right support and listening to the lived experiences of people with spinal cord injury are all part of creating meaningful change.

At Help on Wheels, we’re committed to providing person-centred support that empowers people to live safely, confidently and with greater choice and control.

Together, let’s turn awareness into action. 💚

Celebrating Multicultural Health Week!

At Help on Wheels, diversity is at the heart of who we are.

Our team comes from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, with many of our staff speaking two or more languages. This diversity helps us build genuine connections, understand different cultural needs and provide support that respects each participant as an individual.

This Multicultural Health Week, we celebrate the cultures, languages and experiences that make our communities stronger — and reaffirm our commitment to providing inclusive, culturally responsive and person-centred NDIS support.

Because quality care means making sure everyone feels heard, understood and supported. 💚💛

Today is Wear It Purple Day, a national day of celebration dedicated to creating safe, supportive and inclusive environments for LGBTQIA+ youth.

At Help on Wheels, inclusion means ensuring every person feels respected, valued and supported to be themselves. We are committed to providing person-centred support that respects each participant’s identity, choices and individual needs.

Today and every day, we stand for a community where everyone belongs. 💜🌈

Help on Wheels team is delighted to invite Support Coordinators and Occupational Therapists to join us for our upcoming Connect and Caffeinate networking morning.

This is an opportunity to step away from the emails and busy schedules, grab a coffee, matcha or tea, and connect with other professionals working across the disability and NDIS sector.

At Help on Wheels, we know that strong professional relationships and collaboration are an important part of achieving better outcomes for participants. We’d love to use this morning to meet new faces, reconnect with familiar ones, exchange ideas and build stronger connections within our community.

If you’re a Support Coordinator or Occupational Therapist and would like to attend, please RSVP to [email protected].

This week is Brain Injury Awareness Week.

Help on Wheels joins communities across Australia in raising awareness of brain injury and the diverse experiences of people living with its impacts.

No two brain injuries or recovery journeys are the same. The effects can be physical, cognitive, emotional or behavioural, and some may not always be visible to others.

At Help on Wheels, we believe support should recognise the person, not just the injury. Through compassionate, individualised NDIS support, we work alongside participants to promote independence, confidence, connection and choice in everyday life.

This Brain Injury Awareness Week, we encourage everyone to learn, listen and look beyond what you can see. 💚💛
