Help on Wheels reflects on Autistic Pride Day, which was marked last week, and the importance of creating spaces where those with Autism feel respected, accepted, and valued for who they are.

Autistic pride is about self-acceptance, dignity, and rejecting shame. It reminds us that those with Autism deserve to exist authentically, without having to mask, shrink themselves, or constantly justify their needs, communication styles, or ways of experiencing the world.

At Help on Wheels, we are committed to truly participant-centred care by listening, learning, and providing inclusive support that respects each person’s individuality, identity, and lived experience.
