Eyes of AI has been named the winner of the Oracle AI Tech Award at the 2026 Australian Technologies Competition.

Having the opportunity to share our vision for making dental diagnosis faster, more consistent and more accessible was incredibly meaningful.

This year’s competition attracted 249 applications, with just 33 national finalists and four companies competing in our category. We are incredibly proud to bring home this award. 🚀

A huge thank you to the Australian Technologies Competition, Scalare Partners, Oracle, the judges, mentors, partners and everyone who has supported us along the way.

Congratulations to all the finalists!

Professor Axel Spahr, Head of Periodontics at the University of Sydney and one of the world’s leading periodontists, is helping drive a major $6.7 million CRC-P project led by Eyes of AI to transform how periodontal disease is detected. 🦷

Periodontal disease affects more than one billion people worldwide, yet it often goes undetected until irreversible damage has occurred.

Featured on the cover of this month’s Bite Magazine, Professor Spahr shares the journey that brought him to Australia, his commitment to advancing periodontal care and his collaborative work with Eyes of AI, CSIRO and our research partners. ✨

Thank you to Australian Healthcare Week for the opportunity to have our Chief Operating Officer, Jared Huynh, speak on “The Moat No Competitor Can Cross: Building Defensible Healthcare Innovation.”

A key takeaway from the discussion was that in healthcare, defensibility isn’t just about having a strong algorithm. The real moat comes from the combination of clinical validation, regulatory strategy, hardware integration, and real-world trust.

It was great connecting with so many founders, investors, clinicians, and innovators who are passionate about shaping the future of healthcare. We really enjoyed the conversations and energy that the event brought about!

In just six months, the Perio-Detect consortium has shown what’s possible when advanced AI, clinical expertise, and research excellence align behind a clear mission.

We’ve now progressed into model development and validation, building a strong foundation for the next phase.

At Eyes of AI, we're proud to be driving this forward alongside Straumann, Ray Australia, CSIRO Data61, and the University of Sydney- ensuring every step is shaped by real-world clinical needs.
