Racura Oncology Racura Oncology (ASX: RAC) is a Phase 3 stage clinical biopharmaceutical company with a mission to silence cancer

10/09/2026

Continuing our series of key highlights from the Racura Symposium, Chairman Dr Peter Smith outlines our clinical portfolio and the distinct risk profiles of our three ongoing trials.

He notes that our programme targeting acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) - a known MYC-driven cancer where our drug has demonstrated efficacy - is advancing to Phase 3. He also outlines how our HARNESS-1 and CPACS clinical studies ask two different questions, specifically investigating the drug's capacity to overcome treatment resistance in non-small cell lung cancer, and the extent to which it can protect heart muscle cells from chemotherapy-induced damage.

Racura Oncology (ASX: RAC) has been selected to present new preclinical data on its lead asset, RC220, at the 2026 Frontiers in Cancer Science (FCS) Conference, held in partnership with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), in Singapore this November.

The research establishes that (E,E)-bisantrene is the active isomer responsible for stabilising the G-quadruplex region within the MYC gene promoter region, leading to reduced MYC gene expression.

Importantly, the findings provide further mechanistic support for Racura’s clinical programs across acute myeloid leukaemia, EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer and anthracycline cardioprotection.

While targeted therapies have revolutionised oncology, acquired resistance remains a significant challenge for many patients. In the next snippet from our Investor Symposium , VP of Research Prof Mike Kelso examines how the MYC protein, found in many major cancer indications, drives this resistance and how Racura’s preclinical studies looking into novel treatments demonstrate broad synergy with targeted agents across multiple cancer types.

Racura Oncology CEO Dr. Daniel Tillett took the stage at the recent TechKnow Invest Roadshow, to share our approach to drug development and outline the potential of RC220.

Racura Oncology is rapidly advancing three clinical programs focused on MYC, a historically "undruggable” oncology target dysregulated in up to 70% of cancers.

The TechKnow presentation is now available to view - find the link here: https://announcements.racuraoncology.com/activity-updates/yOZDdP-racura-oncology-at-techknow-invest-roadshow-july-2026

The MYC protein has long been considered the 'holy grail' of oncology targets, yet remains notoriously difficult to silence. In this Racura Symposium highlight, VP of Research Prof Mike Kelso outlines our novel therapeutic approach to targeting MYC-driven cancers by binding to and stabilising three-dimensional DNA structures known as G-quadruplexes.

Racura Oncology (ASX: RAC) is pleased to announce an important milestone for our CPACS Phase 1 trial, with Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital becoming the first Korean site to open for patient enrolment.

The CPACS trial is evaluating RC220 in combination with doxorubicin in patients with advanced solid tumours, with the aim of investigating both cardioprotection and potential anticancer synergy.

Additional Korean sites, including Severance Hospital and Samsung Medical Center, are scheduled to be activated and opened for patient enrolment in the coming weeks.

The activation of these sites marks an important step forward for the CPACS trial, and is expected to accelerate patient recruitment and trial progress.

We thank our investigators and clinical teams in Korea as we advance RC220 through clinical development.

Kicking off our series of key highlights from the Investor Symposium, which took place in March this year, CEO and Managing Director Dr Daniel Tillett details how Racura Oncology stands as a unique, clinically de-risked biotech investment on the ASX.

Considering the traditional 0.1 per cent success rate of advancing a drug to approval, our lead asset (E,E)-bisantrene is distinct, having secured prior approval for AML in France under a preceding formulation bolstered by a demonstrated efficacy over a 40-year period.

An article from Racura Oncology CEO Dr Daniel Tillett has been published in Drug Target Review sharing his thoughts on why Racura is reviving bisantrene, a cancer therapy developed decades ago and abandoned, and the scientific insights from Racura’s researchers driving the renewed interest.

These insights have driven the development of RC220, our novel formulation of bisantrene, and have advanced its use across multiple cancer indications.

As Daniel explains: “What began as a programme aimed at reviving bisantrene for a niche application has expanded into a deeper understanding of the molecule’s mechanism of action and its potential role in targeting MYC.”

This Daffodil Day (Cancer Council Australia) marks 40 years of growing hope for everyone affected by cancer, a vital reminder of why advancing cancer research remains critical.

At Racura Oncology, our target is clear: delivering better and safer outcomes for patients with cancer. Through our novel lead asset, RC220, we are advancing multiple clinical trials aiming to improve the outcomes of patients while helping them avoid the serious side effects that come with conventional cancer treatments.
