Aspect’s Autism Friendly team is proud to have supported artist Jess in preparing an autism-friendly experience for Spectrum: an award-winning Sydney Fringe Festival performance exploring neurodivergence through spoken word, movement and live visual art.

Our team provided autism-friendly consultation and worked with Jess to co-design a Visual Story to help audiences know what to expect before attending the performance.

Spectrum follows a journey of masking, self-discovery and belonging through an Autistic lens, celebrating Autistic creativity while helping make arts and cultural experiences more accessible.

We’re looking forward to being there on the night to support Jess and the production.

Principal Carolyn Blanden leads Warakirri College, a special assistance school in Western Sydney supporting young people aged 15 to 22 who have often been excluded from other learning environments. Many become the first in their family to complete Year 10, and around 30% go on to receive a university offer.

Carolyn reminds us not to lower students’ aspirations and to recognise that discrimination and disadvantage can be subtle and present in every community. Inclusion means opening doors, not quietly closing them.

Students and families at Aspect Western Sydney School celebrated Book Week with the official opening of their new Street Library, a special space where the school community can borrow, share and enjoy books together. 📚❤️

Hand made by our talented general assistant Derek and decorated with the colourful handprints of students and staff, the library quickly proved popular.

Students eagerly chose their first books before settling into the sunshine to read with their families. ☀️📖

A huge thank you to Derek for bringing this wonderful project to life, and to everyone who helped make the opening such a special part of Book Week.

A courtside experience to remember! 🏀❤️

Students from Aspect Central Coast School's Senior College recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a private training session with the Sydney Kings.

For one Year 12 student, the day was extra special when he got to spend time with his basketball idol, Xavier Cooks, while also getting involved behind the scenes by helping the players with drink bottles and towels during the session.

A huge thank you to the Sydney Kings and everyone involved in making this experience possible for our students. 👏🏀

Michael shares how his neurodivergent perspective, passion for animals and creative process shaped his journey from an idea to his first children’s book, Edward’s Astonishing Animals.
