Over 3500km. Always preferring the road less travelled.

From the plains, to the outback, through broadacre farmland, rugged southern coastline, blue ocean and white sand.

Visited mines, historic buildings & sites, w**eries, country bakeries, caught up with friends new and old.

Accidental discoveries.

What a fantastic trip. I can see why vanlifing is addictive.

Australia, this country we have the privilege to call home, is so diverse and constantly takes my breath away with its beauty.

If you can, get out there, you won't regret it.

Check out my blog for more details.

There's no getting around it. Mundi Mundi was wet this year, and it did present challenges, but these are the stories we retell the most.

1st the negatives:
I spoke to a number of road Marshall's who probably had the toughest time trying to help everyone get into their spots, in general they said the majority of people were understanding & patient, to the minority who weren't shame on you. You do realise most of these people are volunteers, and a lot pulled extra hours on their shift to help you get in.

I saw a few comments on other Facebook posts: When are they going to call it? Hmm they did and given the massive task they did an exceptional job of getting vehicles in.
Why didn't they move it to Broken Hill? You do realise the massive amount of infrastructure that takes weeks to set up? It can't be moved overnight & where do you propose in Broken Hill can accommodate it? Why don't they move it to a month that doesn't rain? You do know how weather works? Yes there are trends but it's fickled and no one can guarantee an outcome. Do you think Summer would be best? Yep 45°heat would be fantastic. (And remember it was record breaking rainfall) I actually suspect most of these comments came from people who either have never been or missed out on tickets.

There is so much more to this festival than the music.

Which brings me to the positives. I saw people parked up waiting for their turn sharing breakfast, a beverage and a chat. I saw strangers pitching in to help recover bogged vehicles and to set up. I saw kids playing in mud. I saw strangers become friendly neighbours. I saw people reconnecting with people they meet last year. I saw some entrepreneurial kids making money digging drains.

If you're offended by this post that's ok, don't buy tickets next year because that's one thing that makes this festival great is the atmosphere and quite frankly we don't need your energy.

P.S Artists went into Silverton & Broken Hill & played for free & everyone who was turned away could attend on Saturday & still received their refund.

Who's been with me long enough to remember my 1st video?
Almost five years ago, I nervously recorded my very first video for my page, Free2beme. I'm still no more comfortable in front of the camera, but it feels like the perfect time to celebrate this milestone with another one.
Five years ago, I'd just completed my yoga teacher training. I originally did it for my own personal growth, but I quickly became passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with as many people as possible. Since then I've completed training in Trauma-Aware Yoga, Yin Yoga, MFR/Yin, and a Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy.
Five years ago, my first class was Park Yoga. It started out as a free class before evolving into—and remaining—a donation-based class. Staying true to my goal of making yoga accessible to "every body", I also began teaching Chair Yoga. That has grown into several regular classes, and hearing how it helps people with everyday tasks has been incredibly rewarding.
Five years of turning up, sometimes for just one person—or sometimes no one at all. Five years of ideas that didn't work out, exciting opportunities that never quite happened, wondering why people stopped coming to classes, and trying to convince health professionals of the benefits of yoga, particularly for trauma and PTSD.
But it's also been five years of building a beautiful, supportive community. Of celebrating the little wins—like someone stepping their foot through from Downward Dog into a lunge for the very first time (those little cheers never get old! 😂). Of seeing people leave class feeling better than when they arrived and hearing how yoga—and, apparently, I—have made a positive difference in their lives.
It's been five years of searching for a space to call my own and finally finding one that I'm really proud of. Five years of growing this little community to 300 Facebook followers. It might not sound like many, but I love knowing the people who follow along, so I don't think I'll be an influencer anytime soon! I've also built a website (with a little help from my BFF) and started experimenting with YouTube videos.
Wow... so much has happened in five years.
Thank you!

Why not?

Why not indeed!

How often do we ask ourselves that?

How often do we go through with the decision?

How often do we find excuses to not try?

"Why not?" is written by Matt Formston, son of one of my biggest supporters, Loraine.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Matt, but I'm sure he has inherited his mum's tenacity, courage and kindness, and would inspire anyone to achieve against the odds.

This book will join my collection on the bookshelf in my yoga space, available for our community to borrow.

You can also catch Matt's documentary on Netflix "The Blind Sea".
