💙 The NDIS is changing; but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

The NDIA is introducing changes focused on stronger evidence, clearer funding expectations, and greater accountability across supports and services.

At Little Blue Wren Services, we’re here to help participants, families, and independent providers understand what these changes mean and support you through them every step of the way.

Independent workers and small providers are also welcome to reach out if you’d like guidance and support to safely and securely navigate your business through the upcoming changes.

✨ Want to protect your NDIS supports moving forward?
It starts with your evidence.

With the recent changes, one thing is becoming really clear:

👉 Strong, consistent evidence = stronger outcomes for participants

We’re seeing a big opportunity across the sector to lift the standard:

🔹 Moving away from generic shift notes
🔹 Accurately reflecting how much support is actually needed
🔹 Capturing real, day-to-day functional challenges

Because when your supports are clearly evidenced, it creates a much stronger picture for planners and decision-makers.

💬 A few questions worth thinking about:

✔ Does your documentation reflect your real daily support needs?
✔ Are your providers capturing the level of prompting, supervision or assistance you receive?
✔ Are your reports helping tell your story clearly?

Great providers don’t just deliver supports — they build the evidence that protects them.

And that’s how we make sure participants continue to receive the supports they need, both now and into the future 💙

👇 I’d love to hear from others:
What’s one thing you think providers could do better when it comes to documentation and evidence?

📢 TAMWORTH Update – We have relocated

Little Blue Wren Services has moved to a new office, and we are excited to welcome clients to our new space.

📍 1D Darling Street, Tamworth
(Next door to LJ Ho**er)

Our new office is central, accessible, and easier to get to, with more parking available nearby and disability parking located on Peel Street, making visits more convenient for participants, families, and support staff attending appointments or meetings.

The new space allows us to better support our growing team and the increasing number of participants we work with across Tamworth, New England, and the Southern Highlands.

Our previous office on Brisbane Street is no longer in use, and all appointments will now take place at our Darling Street location.

Our phone numbers, email, and services remain the same.

We look forward to welcoming you to the new office.

To the Southern Highlands community 💙

Just to gently clarify something we are hearing a lot locally.

You don’t need to wait until an NDIS plan ends or is reviewed to change providers.

Participants can transition supports at any point during their plan, provided the support is funded and notice periods are respected.

Sometimes people stay put simply because they weren’t told they had options.

If a conversation helps clarify things, that’s always okay.

Tamworth community update 💙

To ensure we continue providing safe, high-quality Support Coordination, Little Blue Wren Services has temporarily paused new Level 2 Support Coordination referrals due to current capacity limits.

We are currently in the process of recruiting an additional Support Coordinator, and referrals will reopen once onboarding is complete and capacity has safely increased.

🔹 Existing participants are not impacted
🔹 A waitlist is being maintained
🔹 Urgent or risk-based referrals will still be reviewed

Hi Southern Highlands 👋

Some of you may have seen our name popping up recently, so I wanted to properly introduce myself.

My name’s Heather, and I grew up right here in the Southern Highlands — a Hill Top kid who went to school at Bowral High — before heading off to travel Australia and a bit of the world. Life eventually brought me back to regional NSW, where I now live on a farm with my two children and run Little Blue Wren Services, a registered NDIS provider.

This is very much a family-led, local service. My sister Kylie will also be working alongside me, supporting people locally and working closely with families, schools, and allied health teams to deliver supports that are genuinely client-centred, client-led, transparent, and well coordinated.

After years working across disability services, compliance, and complex supports, I kept hearing the same things from families and participants in the Highlands:

“We just want supports that feel normal, local, and actually reliable.”
“Why are we losing so much funding out of our plan?”

That’s why I decided to bring Little Blue Wren Services into the Southern Highlands — homegrown, relationship-based supports, delivered properly and in line with the NDIS (no shortcuts, no grey areas).

We support:
NDIS participants
Families and carers
Young people and adults who want capacity-building, community access, and real-life support
Private supports (not everyone fits neatly into NDIS boxes)

If you’re just watching from the sidelines — that’s okay.
If you’re curious and want to have a chat — also okay.

No pressure. No sales pitch. No feeding ducks 🦆😉

I’m here, I’m local, and I care deeply about doing this work well.

Heather

It’s the question we’ve been asking for months: what supports will be funded by Thriving Kids?

We’re getting closer and closer to the answers.

Minister Mark Butler recently published the final report from the Thriving Kids Advisory Group. While this report is technically advice to the government, the Minister is one of the co-chairs. So it’s pretty safe to assume that the Federal government endorses this vision of the program!

The final design, though, will be outlined in agreements with states and territories.

In this article, we dive deep into the Advisory Group’s model and what this might mean for NDIS eligibility.
