Hi Everyone
Sorry for putting this up late but I've been busy with getting my bees shutdown.
The next meeting for Tamworth Branch of Amateur Beekeepers

Meeting time 1:30pm
The club will provide hot water, teabags, coffee, milk, sugar and
biscuits for afternoon tea. Disposable cups will be provided unless
of course you want to bring your own.
What to bring:
Beekeeping suit or jacket with hood, and gloves . Unfortunately at this early stage our club doesn't have any spares.
Wear long sleeves, long trousers, closed shoes, and a beekeeping
veil if not using a suit.
A water bottle, sunscreen and a sunhat.
$2 entrance fee for Tamworth Bee Enthusiasts
A chair/camping stool to sit on.
We will also be running a raffle on the day at $2 per ticket and this
will be drawn on the day.

A two day workshop in Bee Keeping Basics

TAMWORTH SATURDAY 26 FEBRUARY SUNDAY 27 FEBRUARY

Venue: Tamworth Beekeeping Supplies, 397 Armidale Rd. 9.00am to 4.00pm both days
Tutor: Allan Thomas

Advanced workshop fee: $220 per person GST free

Hive inspections to identify problems/issues and suggested actions.

This will include seasonal management of hives which incorporates nutrition, swarming, requeening, combining, and aggressiveness.

If you have a particular issue or question that you would like addressed email it through and Allen will include it in the days agenda.

Participant numbers are limited to allow for individualised learning and hands on experience.

Beginner workshop Fee: $365 per person, GST free
Includes a copy of The NSW Healthy Bee Book plus you will assemble a frame and extract some honey to take home.
Fully catered by our hosts, Tony and Tracey If you have any special dietary requirements or need motel info [2 motels walking distance] Please ask me.
A bee suit can be provided for your use when working hives but bring your own if you have one.
This two day workshop is a series of lectures and practical tasks. The course endeavours to develop sufficient knowledge, skills and confidence for you to begin keeping bees.
Allan, your facilitator, has had approximately 40 years bee keeping experience. As an Agricultural Science teacher, he was recognised with a National Excellence in Teaching Award. He was also the NSW DPI “Beginning in Bees” trainer for northern NSW for many years.

Tamworth Beekeeping Supplies is happy to recommend and support Allan Thomas, Bee Keeping Basics, as a Beginner Bee Keeping course provider. His wealth of knowledge and many years of experience in the industry makes him highly sought after. We are lucky to have him in the New England Region to support the local Bee Keepers.

Allan has had approximately 40 years bee keeping experience. As an Agricultural Science Teacher, he was recognised with a National Excellence in Teaching Award with the Department of Education. He has been the NSW Department of Primary Industries " Beginning in Bees" course facilitator for Northern NSW for several years. Allan has recently become an independent course provider and has established his own business "Bee Keeping Basics".

We are currently planning a Beginner beekeepers workshop for 17th/18th April 2 days one workshop let us know if you are interested as there will be limited numbers for bookings due to covid restrictions.
