Today is Gold Bow Day.

Every year on 1st September, the Australian Thyroid Foundation's Gold Bow Day raises awareness about the importance of being aware of symptoms and changes to your thyroid gland.

If you are concerned about any symptoms or physical changes to your thyroid gland, please consult your doctor, and ask for a Thyroid Ultrasound to check the size, shape, and texture of the thyroid gland and to see if any nodules have developed on your thyroid gland. Thyroid Function blood tests are also important to ensure nothing is missed in identifying and diagnosing any change.

Symptoms & Changes:
- If your thyroid gland has enlarged or become painful
- If you can feel or can see any lumps on your thyroid gland
- You have developed a persistent cough, or you constantly clear your throat
- Your voice has changed in volume or has become hoarse
- You have trouble swallowing or sleeping due to discomfort in your throat
- Your thyroid function blood results have changed, resulting in hypo or hyper thyroid symptoms

August is Tradies National Health Month.

The Australian Physiotherapy Association initiative highlights the importance of supporting the physical health of Tradies.

The demands of trade work can place ongoing stress on muscles and joints - from injuries to ongoing aches and pains, ultrasound can be an important part of investigating what's going on beneath the surface.

If this sounds like you, have a chat to your GP.

It's our Annual Giving Day - Red Apple Day!

Help us to fill Facebook with red apples today to raise much needed awareness and funds for bowel cancer.

Bowel Cancer Australia's apple logo is symbolic of the charity's bowel cancer message: that 99% of bowel cancer cases can be treated successfully if found early.

The outline of Bowel Cancer Australia's apple logo appears as an abstract of a human bowel. The small hole in the apple is caused by a worm. If detected early and removed, the worm is unable to continue affecting the apple or the health of the tree.

It's the same with people. If bowel cancer is detected early, it can be successfully treated, which means patients and their families can continue to enjoy a healthy life.

We need your help to raise $200,000 this Red Apple Day.

Donate now at redappleday.au and have your gift MATCHED, so it has DOUBLE the impact.

Help save lives by sharing the Red Apple Day message with your family, friends and networks.
