“I feel like I’ve gone backwards since my autism diagnosis.”

If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. In fact, as neurodivergent therapists, we hear you loud and clear!

Many late-diagnosed autistic adults notice changes after diagnosis or during periods of prolonged stress. Masking becomes harder. Sensory needs become louder. Everyday tasks take more energy. You may feel like you’ve lost parts of yourself.

But maybe you haven’t.

Maybe your nervous system has simply reached a point where it can’t keep surviving the way it always has.

At Thrive in Thought, this conversation is deeply personal. We are proudly neurodivergent-led, with an entirely neurodivergent team. This gives our practice both lived experience and clinical understanding of the late-diagnosis journey.

By neurodivergent people, for neurodivergent people.

We don’t believe the goal is to become less autistic.

We believe the goal is to understand yourself with compassion, honour your needs, embrace your strengths, and build a life that works with your nervous system—not against it.

🤍 You are not broken.
🤍 Your needs are valid.
🤍 You deserve support that sees the whole person.

Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

✨ Thrive. Rise. Fly.

🌱 Building Something Special at Military Vehicle yerinbool headquarters.

What you’re seeing here is more than a patch of land.

It’s the beginning of a dream.

Together with the team at Military Vehicle Headquarters Yerrinbool, we’re creating a space where people can connect, grow, heal, and belong.

Over the coming months, this space will continue to evolve into a unique environment that brings together:

🐴 Equine Therapy
🌿 Vegetable Gardens
🤎 Counselling & Therapeutic Support
🏕️ Camps & Community Experiences
🫶 Connection, Learning & Belonging

We believe that healing doesn’t always happen within four walls.

Sometimes it happens while tending a garden.
Sometimes it happens around a campfire.
Sometimes it happens beside a horse.
Sometimes it happens through meaningful connection with others.

Every scoop of dirt, every fence post, every garden bed and every paddock is helping bring this vision to life.

This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you.

Watch this space. Something special is growing. 🌱✨

❄️ Winter Wellness

As the days become shorter and the weather cools, it’s normal to notice changes in energy, motivation, mood, and routine.

Winter can be a season of rest, reflection, and slowing down—but it can also bring challenges for our mental health and wellbeing.

This season, try to focus on small, sustainable acts of self-care:
🌿 Spend time outdoors
🤎 Stay connected with others
🚶 Move your body
☕ Prioritise rest
🧠 Check in with yourself

Remember, wellbeing isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about noticing what you need and responding with kindness.

Be gentle with yourself this winter.

What is one thing you’ll do for your wellbeing this week? ❄️

🌈 Pride Month

At Thrive in Thought, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, respected, and valued for who they are.

Pride Month is a celebration of diversity, identity, resilience, and the ongoing journey towards equality and inclusion for LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities.

For many people, mental health and wellbeing are deeply connected to feeling accepted, understood, and able to live authentically. Creating spaces where people can be themselves without fear of judgement is not just important—it can be life changing.

As a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed practice, we are committed to fostering an environment where participants, families, staff, and community members feel welcome, respected, and supported.

This month, we celebrate the courage it takes to be yourself, the strength found in community, and the importance of creating a world where everyone can thrive exactly as they are.

You belong here. 🌈

Meet Bella 🤎

We are so excited to introduce Bella, our beautiful 15.2hh Thoroughbred mare, who has joined the Thrive in Thought Equine Therapy herd at Yerrinbool.

Bella is gentle, intuitive, and incredibly people-focu. Like many thoroughbreds, she carries both sensitivity and strength — qualities that make her such a powerful partner in therapeutic work.

Horses have an incredible ability to tune into human emotion and energy. Through connection, grounding, movement, and quiet presence, Bella helps create opportunities for emotional regulation, confidence building, trust, and self-awareness in a safe and supportive environment.

At Thrive in Thought, our equine therapy sessions are about more than riding. They are about connection, co-regulation, healing, and creating space to simply be.

We cannot wait for our clients to meet her and build their own special connections alongside her.

Welcome to the herd, Bella 🐴✨

National Reconciliation Week 2026
“All In”

Reconciliation asks something of all of us.

This year’s theme, “All In,” is a reminder that reconciliation is not passive. It is not something we simply observe — it is something we actively choose to be part of through listening, learning, reflecting, and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples every day.

National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June, recognising two significant milestones in Australia’s reconciliation journey:
• 27 May — the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum
• 3 June — Mabo Day, recognising the landmark decision that overturned terra nullius and acknowledged Native Title.

At Thrive in Thought, we remain committed to creating culturally safe, respectful, and inclusive spaces for the children, families, and communities we support.

Reconciliation begins in everyday moments:
In conversations.
In education.
In advocacy.
In genuine connection.

This week, we encourage our community to reflect on what being “All In” means for them — and how together we can continue building a future grounded in respect, truth, and unity.

Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

There’s something powerful about slowing down enough to connect — with nature, with ourselves, and with the quiet presence of a horse.

At our Equine Therapy program held at the Headquarters in Yerrinbool, healing doesn’t always happen through words. Sometimes it happens in the stillness between breaths, in gentle moments of trust, and in the calm connection shared beside a horse.

Horses have an incredible ability to meet us where we are. They respond to emotion, energy, and authenticity — offering opportunities for grounding, emotional regulation, confidence building, and connection in a way that feels safe and natural.

Surrounded by open space, fresh air, and a supportive environment, our sessions create room to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Because sometimes growth begins quietly.

The bush tells a story—one of contrast, resilience, and quiet renewal.

Blackened trunks stand beside new growth. Dry earth meets pockets of green. What was once burnt is not gone… it’s transforming.

In the stillness, there’s space to reflect.

Just like nature, we move through seasons. There are times that feel heavy, overwhelming, even scorched. And yet, alongside that, growth is always unfolding—sometimes quietly, sometimes unseen.

Healing doesn’t mean erasing what’s been. It means learning to sit with it, to understand it, and to gently nurture what comes next.

Take a moment today to pause.
To breathe.
To notice where growth is already happening in your life.

Even here… life continues.

Healing looks different for everyone. Sometimes, it begins with a horse.

Meet Freya 🐴

Thrive in Thought Therapy is proud to be associated with equine therapy opportunities at Yerrinbool alongside Military Vehicle Charity Inc.

Set in a peaceful rural environment, equine therapy can support emotional regulation, confidence, communication, trust, and connection. Horses have a unique way of responding to calm energy and authenticity — helping people feel grounded, safe, and understood without needing many words.

For veterans, first responders, children, and individuals navigating mental health or disability challenges, this can be a powerful pathway to healing and growth.

At Thrive in Thought, we believe therapy doesn’t always happen in four walls. Sometimes it happens outdoors, in fresh air, with connection, movement, and purpose. 🌿

Lest We Forget. 🌺

Today, on Anzac Day, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have served our country — past and present.

At Thrive in Thought Therapy, this day holds deep meaning. We are proudly a service run by veterans and their families, with a strong commitment to supporting veterans, first responders, and the wider community. We understand that service does not always end when the uniform comes off, and that wellbeing, connection, and healing matter long after active duty.

Today we remember those who gave everything, we acknowledge those who continue to carry the unseen burdens of service, and we stand beside the families who serve alongside them.

Their strength, resilience, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Lest We Forget.
