After a fantastic week full of meaningful activities, we wrapped up with a community BBQ, bringing together different organisations, teams and friendly faces right here at Harry's Place.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the conversations.

Carpentaria's new fleet vehicle will support the ongoing delivery of services to regional and remote communities across the Territory, thanks to the NTG Community Benefit Fund.

It was a pleasure to present Carpentaria with the keys to their new vehicle last week on behalf of Minister Boothby. This addition to their fleet will open up more opportunities for them to deliver essential disability services throughout the Top End region.

Another fabulous year at BASSINTHEGRASS!

We are proud to continue our partnership with Tourism and Events NT, ensuring everyone feels included and can access the Territory's most iconic events.

It was great to see so many Carpentaria participants and members of the disability community enjoying the awesome line-up, activations, and dry season weather! We love how music brings everyone together. 🎶🎸🪩

We commenced National Reconciliation Week at Harry's Place this morning with a beautiful Welcome to Country from Gabrial Millar and a Smoking Ceremony led by Trent Lee.

Delivered in collaboration with Australian Regional & Remote Community Services, Variety - the Children’s Charity NT and Carpentaria, a full week of activities is on offer at Harry's Place, including the Pledge Tree where everyone is invited to write their pledge for reconciliation. Look out for it in the Harry's Place reception, and please add your voice to this fantastic joint artwork.

'My passion is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with disabilities. I enjoy providing person-centred care and active supports to enhance independence and quality of life.

Recently, I supported a participant to use a sewing machine for the First time. We applied the ‘little and often’ Active Support principle and when she reached this milestone, it was wonderful to celebrate with her family and the team. It highlighted the participant’s hidden potential and the real impact of working together to build skills and confidence.

Carpentaria is a remarkable organisation that is deeply committed to both participants and staff. It supports, includes and empowers individuals with disabilities to live with dignity and purpose.

– Emily, Team Leader / Independent Living Coach

A big congratulations to Carpentaria's New Graduate Therapists, Gia (Occupational Therapist), Nagoya (Occupational Therapist), and Colleen (Speech Pathologist) on officially graduating from Charles Darwin University last week!

While they've been in their roles at Carpentaria since the start of the year (and Colleen was actually an Allied Health Assistant here prior to completing her degree!), we know attending graduation is a special moment to celebrate and reflect on your achievements. We can't wait to see you continue to grow as clinicians throughout our New Graduate program and beyond.

Please join us in wishing them congratulations on this exciting milestone! ✨
