A few days ago, I picked up a golf club for the very first time thanks to two of my yoga students ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Elegance was not exactly the dominant feature of my swing.

But somewhere between laughing at myself, trying to coordinate my body, adjusting my posture and missing a few balls, I remembered something we often forget in midlife:

๐“๐ก๐ž ๐›๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฒ.

It thrives on movement, challenge, adaptation, connection and play.

Somewhere along the way, many women stop trying new things as life becomes responsibility, routine, and productivity.

Yet neuroplasticity - our brainโ€™s incredible ability to adapt and create new pathways - responds to:
* New experiences โ€“ learning, moving differently, being a beginner * And connection - laughing with others, doing something simply because it feels good.

This year, letโ€™s widen the lens of Motherโ€™s Day beyond motherhood.
To all women: mothers, not-yet mothers, not-called-to-be mothers, letโ€™s make this day a time to honour you.

Because beyond the roles we hold, something deeply important is happening: the small moves we long for to feel aligned and balanced.

๐Ÿ’ก Oxytocin, often called the โ€œconnection hormoneโ€, sits high in the hormonal hierarchy. It influences how you feel, how you relate, and how your body finds balance.
And hereโ€™s something to reflect on:
As oestrogen shifts through menopause, oxytocin patterns shift too.

You may find yourself craving:
โœจ Deep connection and meaningful conversations
โœจ Laughter and shared moments
โœจ Or, ๐˜ซ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ต ๐˜ข๐˜ด ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜บ, time alone
They are all valid and support your hormonal health.

Weight gain, brain fog, fatigue - most of you may think your body is failing you - but what if it was your body talking to you?
That's the shift I'm sitting with.
For years, the menopause conversation has been built around loss. What's disappearing? What's going wrong? And I understand why. Because those symptoms are real, and they deserve to be taken seriously.
But when we only see them as problems to fix, we miss what they're actually pointing to.
The belly weight? Your body is protecting your vital organs while it recalibrates.
The brain fog? Your brain is in the middle of a genuine remodel.
The mood swings? A biochemical shift that's asking for your attention.
These aren't signs that you're falling apart. They're signals that something deeper is ready to change.
