The warm glow of compassion is rising quietly beneath those city benches in Italy—small wooden cubbies, tucked along sidewalks, offering dry cushions and bowls of food for the stray cats that have long lived on the margins.

It’s a gentle reminder that care can be woven into the city’s very fabric: public infrastructure transformed into safe havens, human kindness turned into a soft place for a creature often unseen. The act isn’t loud—it’s simply present.

When we give even the smallest beings a place to rest, we affirm that every life has value.

On my recent trip to Turkiye I was so happy to see cats everywhere I went, whether it be eating at a restaurant, historic ruins or a pottery business, cats are looked after by everyone in Turkiye.

The government looks after the street cats by putting up the food stations like in photo 1. Shop and business owners feed and look after cats they call their shop cats.
The government also makes sure the street cats are vaccinated and desexed to stop over population and diseases spreading.

Turkiye really is the City of Cats! This love of cats goes right back to the Ottoman empire 👑
