Matte VS Glowy - I hear alot of people still avoiding glow as they think it will make fine lines and pores stand out more - in my opinion I dont think this is true for me personally anything too matte sits in my lines more not to mention its harder to touch up through my long days if I need to.

There is a fine line between too much glow though for me I love creating subtle luminosity with products like kryolan Shimmering Event foundation or a subtle mineral powder with glow or a lightweight foundation such as Inclininic active cover foundation ♡

Its also sometimes in the layering process as an oily gal I need to make sure im controlling that underneath as well ♡

Im a sucker for a boujee perfume but just dont have the boujee budget right now so these "inspired by" perfumes are the perfect lil handbag buddy ♡

Everything about this outfit was budget tbh my dress was an absolute barg from and I got so many comments and felt so pretty ♡

BTS of retail doing bulk random stock checks ♡ We are currently managing two seperate levels of stock across multiple systems - weve tried streamlining things but what one system does another doesnt and our set up is unique to other beauty salons.

Im praying one day I find the perfect solution not only for us but for you too - one that allows you to shop how you prefer with ease be that online or in store and for us to be able to pack your goodies quickly and effectively ♡

I also want my time back and for the stock levels Gods to have my numbers exactly what they should be 🤣

SMALL BUSINESS, REAL TALK

I’ve been thinking a lot about what small business looks like right now, and I thought it was time to pull back the curtain a little.

There’s so much that happens behind the pretty shopfront that customers never see. The costs, the decisions, the risks, the constant adapting… and sometimes the question of whether all the hard work is actually paying you what it should.

This latest one is about card fees, retail, online systems, competition with the big guys and, ultimately, why I still believe so strongly in what small independent business can offer.

Not a whinge. Not looking for sympathy. Just a real conversation.

Because I love what I do. I’m proud of what we’ve built. And I also believe small business owners deserve to make a good living from the businesses they work so hard to create.

Tanning...

It was my first ever beauty service nearly 16 years ago and I honestly don’t think I ever imagined how much I would learn from a spray tan.

Because when you’ve been doing something for this long, you start to see the little things.

You notice the trends before they become trends.

You notice when formulations change.

You notice which products disappear and which ones stick around.

You learn what happens when you change a gun setting, your technique, your solution, your prep… even the way you talk to the person standing in front of you.

I’ve watched tanning go from the days when rapid tans didn’t even exist to personalised solutions, cocktail tanning, contour tanning and formulations that have completely transformed how we can create a tan.

I’ve tried SO many.

Different brands. Different formulas. Different techniques.

Sunbeds, peptides, products from every corner of the tanning world… if I could try it, I probably did.

Not because I needed to have tried everything.

But because I’m genuinely curious.

I want to know what works. What doesn’t. Why.

And after nearly 16 years, I’ve learnt that tanning is about so much more.

Because my favourite part has never actually been the tan.

It’s the person.

I’ve heard so many stories in that little room over the years.

Mostly the beautiful ones.

Formals. Weddings. Holidays. Birthdays. Big nights out. The moments where someone wants to feel amazing!

But some of my most memorable appointments have been the quieter ones.

A tan before a funeral because someone wanted to feel their best while saying goodbye to someone they loved.

A tan after sickness because they just wanted to feel a little more like themselves again.

A tan on a day when life felt heavy and they simply needed to do something that made them feel a little bit better.

And THAT is why I love beauty.

I’ve never really been interested in making people look good for the sake of looking good.

I want people to feel good.

To feel confident. Comfortable. A little bit more in love with themselves.

Navy Blue is not in my colour palette generally but I am obsessed with the blue liner looks that are trending right now... Did you know you can make certain colours work for you with how you are placing them together?

I kept everything else pretty soft today - a clear gloss on my lips a cream bronzer and blush + a softer than usual brow - teamed up with a navy jacket and fresh blonde hair from Toowoomba Hair Salon - Colour Specialists and the look came together ♡

Who wants another colour workshop with Amanda Herron?
