“Sugar isn’t just a waistline problem — it’s an ageing problem 🍬⏳”

Blurb (caption):
“Let’s talk about the sugar-skin connection 🔬

Every time we eat sugar, it can trigger an insulin spike — and consistently high insulin is linked to increased inflammation in the body. Over time, this process (called glycation) can affect collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and bouncy.

The result? Some research links high sugar intake to more visible fine lines and a duller, less resilient complexion.

The good news: small shifts add up. Balancing blood sugar with protein, fibre, and mindful choices is one of the simplest things you can do for skin that ages well.

Things nobody tells you about ageing well (that I wish I knew at 40)
It's not about fighting anything, fighting is exhausting and you lose eventually anyway. Consistency beats intensity, every time.
And confidence isn't a look, it's a decision you keep making, on the good skin days and the bad ones. Excellence, not perfectionism.
That's the whole philosophy.
What's one thing you'd tell your younger self about ageing well?

I Genuinely want to know.

I’m sharing my daily supplement stack with you today and what each one does for my body to help slow down the ageing process.
I’d love to know, do you take any daily supplements?

I've been practicing yoga for many years.
What it's given me isn't flexibility for its own sake. It's body awareness, stress regulation, breath, and a relationship with stillness.
Chronic stress accelerates ageing at a cellular level. It disrupts sleep, drives inflammation and affects everything from your gut to your skin.
Yoga isn't a cure. But it is one of the most accessible tools I know for managing stress and staying connected as you age.

What does your stress management look like ?

If you're curious about skin needling but nervous about what it actually involves, let's talk. No jargon: tiny, controlled channels are created in the skin to encourage its own repair process. There's some downtime to plan for, redness and sensitivity for a day or two is normal. The part people skip is suitability. Every skin is different, which is exactly why a proper consultation comes before anything else. Questions welcome in the comments, or book a consultation to find out if it's right for you.

Careful. Another important ingredient that I recommend in clinic is that people should be on vitamin B3, so that's niacinamide, and a lot of different brands have different levels of niacinamide. So synergy have 22%, which is really high. I see a lot of other skin, brands that have 2%, so the higher, the better. Uh, niacinamide or vitamin B will increase ceramine production. So ceramines add hydration to the skin and give you that glow.So when you fall pregnant, and you've got that beautiful pregnancy glow, that's the body producing more ceramides. So you wanna add vitamin B3.It will. It's also a wonderful antioxidant to reduce oxidative stress on the skin. It will reduce lines, it will reduce pigment, and it will keep the skin producing new skin cells down the normal pathway, and not an abnormal pathway like fine lines, redness, rosacea. It, kinda, keeps the skin honest and healthy.

Water, its not just a thirst quencher, its an anti ageing supplement as well.
Hydration keeps the skin supple and functional.
Water supports nutrient delivery, toxin removal and barrier strength.
Dehydration can exaggerate fine lines and make skin appear tired.
Conbine internal hydration by drinking filtered water with external moisture through serums and creams that strengthen your skin barrier.

DM for a consultation to discuss the correct products to hydrate your skin.

POV: you're 61 and you just hit a deadlift PB 💪 I'll let that sink in for a second, because it took me a while to believe it too. I started lifting properly in my 50s. Half the people around me acted like I was doing something reckless. I just thought... this makes sense? Strong bones, strong posture, strong sense of "yep, still got this." Nobody tells you positive ageing isn't about doing less as you get older. It's about doing the right things, consistently, for decades. Skincare. Sun safety. Real food. Strength training. None of it's glamorous. All of it works. This is what it actually looks like on the inside. Not a filter. A deadlift bar and a bit of stubbornness. Follow along, I'm only just getting started 😏

If you only do one thing for your skin, make it sunscreen. Daily UV exposure is the single biggest driver of premature skin ageing ,fine lines, pigmentation, loss of firmness. It happens even on cloudy days, even through car windows. I wear SPF every day without exception, and I’ve done so for years. The Synergie UberZinc is my go-to zinc-based mineral SPF that sits beautifully under makeup and is gentle enough for sensitive skin.
