Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at Max in clinic ahead of his first week with us this Tuesday.

With a background in clinical physiotherapy, yoga teaching, and Zenthai Shiatsu, Max brings a calm, hands-on and holistic approach to treatment—focusing on movement, posture, recovery, and helping the body function at its best.

We’re incredibly excited to now be offering Physiotherapy at Sequence, giving our patients even more options when it comes to their care and private health provider choices.

Meet Terry 👋 Today’s MENTORING session.

After a rough body surfing incident in Sri Lanka, Terry presented to the clinic with significant neck pain and headaches after hitting his head and grazing his forehead on the sand.

Following X-rays and an MRI, serious injury was ruled out, although he was experiencing mild concussion symptoms alongside upper neck and trapezius tension headaches.

This week’s mentoring session with Olivia and Bec focused around Terry’s presentation and the importance of a gentle, individualised approach to recovery following head and neck injuries.

Treatment initially focused on:
• gentle cervical and thoracic mobilisation
• soft tissue massage
• trigger point dry needling
• pecs inhibition and thoracic release work
• biodynamic cranial sacral therapy
• tailored home exercises for mobility and posture

Three sessions later, Terry’s symptoms are now close to 90% improved — just in time to head north and escape the Victorian winter ☀️

Sever's disease, also known as calcaneal apophysitis, is a common condition that affects growing adolescents, particularly those who are active in sports. It occurs when the growth plate at the back of the heel becomes inflamed, leading to pain and discomfort during activities. Children and teenagers often experience this condition due to repetitive stress on the heel bone, especially during running, jumping, or other high-impact sports. If your little athlete is complaining about heel pain, it’s essential to address it to keep them comfortable and active!

✨ What an incredible night at our clinic! We said goodbye to our dear Ash and joyfully welcomed Max to our team. Change is always bittersweet, but we are excited for the fresh perspectives and energy that Max brings to our clinic! 🌟

This followed with a CPD session, we dove deep into various osteopathic techniques aimed at treating the shoulder complex. From the intricacies of the scapula and upper ribs to the vital roles of the clavicles and neck, our discussions were both engaging and enlightening. 💪

One of the things we cherish most as osteopaths is our commitment to a holistic approach to treatment. Learning from each other in this informal environment allows us to grow both personally and professionally. With the wisdom of David Cotes, who brings over 40 years of experience, alongside Dan and Bec with their 25 years experience, we are constantly evolving to provide the best care possible for our patients. 🌈
