Hello pocket friend's,

I hope you can join me for tomorrow's Collective Rest live videocall or resting your own way at the videocall time, or watch the recording later.

Wednesday 27th May 1:30pm AEST

Pay what you can afford. Booking https://events.humanitix.com/collective-rest Or in bio

Last week's call I got to use a clip on microphone for the first time, hopefully better for you to listen to.

I also enjoyed using my DIY heated yoga mat. I'd rescued a single bed electric blanket that was heading for the bin as the person no longer needed it. I washed it and trimmed the excess felt width off- the heating wires only take up about a yoga mat area. Over the top I have a folded thin woolen mattress protector.

Make sure you have cozy things at hand for the relaxation part of class. Maybe even a warmed wheatbag or hot water bottle πŸ₯°

You can also find last week's videocall on my YouTube if you want a watch.

II teach most of it sitting but it is meant to be done lying down.

I hope your body and mind are kind to you today

I recently went to a flower arranging workshop run by a local aboriginal woman.

I learnt so much about the customs, culture, and history of her people. It was only an overview but touched on so many topics and examples.

She also shared how local plants have been used by her people, many that grow on our bushland property.

Some plants we used in the arrangements were Australian native but not local.

I was mentally and physically exhausted after the 90min session. It has been a long time since I have gone along to an activity like this and was so grateful I could manage.

As always, I wore a mask 😷.

I'd love you to join me for Collective Rest this Wednesday on the videocall or by watchingtherecording. Book here or in bio

Or Rest in your own way at 1:30 knowing others are resting too.

I hope your body and mind are kind to you today

Six sleeps until Blue Sunday Tea Party for ME/CFS πŸ§πŸ«–β˜•οΈπŸ₯³πŸŽˆ.

If you have ME/CFS, I'd love you to join me on Sunday. I had such a lovely time hosting videocalls for Blue Sunday in 2022 and am excited to be doing it again this year.

I know that for many with ME/CFS joining a videocall is too much. Please know that it will be gentle and welcoming, no pressure to speak, stay for the hour, or have your video on if that is too much.

Please share with anyone who may be interested.

I hope your body and mind are kind to you today πŸ’›Claire

πŸ“·1) I have been enjoying the autumn sun coming in the window, and captured this from upstairs. I've slowly been making slip covers for this sofa- finished the green cushions, and cut and pinned the linen floral furnishing fabric for the main couch both thrifted fabrics.

πŸ“·2) Picking and enjoying home grown tomato's shown in a bowl.

πŸ“·3-5) Masaman curry- from Recipe Tin Eats website. It has the option using this tin of Maesri brand paste that is available in supermarkets.

I modify the recipe to make quicker, including cooking the meat in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes, then adding the cooked off paste and other ingredients for the sauce that I prep in a frypan that morning.

πŸ“·6-9) This foam mattress gets moved about to follow the shade some mild still days where I have time resting outside with gumtree views. Not pictured here-After dinner, we move the coffee table out of the way (it has wheels), and the mattress goes in its spot. Either to enjoy the open sliding glass doors or the wood fire. Usually, Darwin dog gets the best spot.

πŸ“·9)Pears from a friend's tree. πŸ“·10) I made my go to Recipe Tin Eats oat bars with them.

πŸ“·11) I held the first Collective Rest video call. You can catch the recording on my youtube and book next weeks videocall- Links in bio. I've figured out the recording settings, and the next one will be better quality. Get in touch if you have questions, I'd love to make the videocalls as accessible as possible.

I hope your body and mind are kind to you today

I'd love you to put 1:30-2:30pm AEST Wednesday 29th April in your diary and join me for a warm hearted hour, community resting at the same time.

Pick some nice gentle audio to listen to - music or guided relaxation perhaps.

Or

Watch last week's videocall on my youtube https://youtube.com/

I plan to have the next videocall in the next week or two. And will have improved the recording so it is separate from the videocall layout.

In the meantime, I want to make sure I am on the right track.

I need some feedback on what would help you sign up or participate.

The first videocall had mostly sign ups from my local students, and two lovely people from here.

Having majority of sign ups being my local students the class had some more movement than I will include when more spoonies join.

I am sure there are other people who want to participate/or who did join in and rest at the time.

Let me know if that's you.

I hope your body and mind are kind to you today

I would love you to join me. It is the second time I will be hosting and I had such a lovely day the last time a few years ago.

It is a no pressure, welcoming, warm hearted event.

A day to celebrate the perseverance and strength we summon each day to tackle living with ME/CFS.

Choose simple and just login to the call or get more fancy with a yummy drink, a tasty snack, or by wearing something blue e.g. PJ's.

Again, no pressure, maybe you will have a treat another time during the day.

*Easily cancel via booking site if unable to attend.

*No pressure to chat on the call.
People understand only having enough energy to logon.
Also there will be enough others chatting that you wont stand out.

Let me know if you have any questions
