North Australia improves the health and well-being of seriously ill children and their families through practical care programs.

Our vision is for all seriously ill children to live their healthiest lives. We believe that when a child is sick, the entire family needs comfort and support. We are there for families, helping them access the medical care and resources they need. Whether it's ensuring they have a place to stay close to the hospital, so they are mere moments away from their sick little one, providing the chance f

or the entire family to take a holiday far from hospital walls, supporting families to help get their child caught up on missed schooling due to serious illness, or making sure that they have everything they need during a hospital stay, we're devoted to improving the health and well-being of seriously ill children and their families through our many practical care programs. ❤️HERO WEEK HIGHLIGHTS! What a magnificent week of heroes. ❤️

Our Help Our Little Heroes 1RAR Hero Week has come to a close across Mackay and Townsville, and what a way to finish!

Over the week, 1RAR soldiers took over more than 30 locations across the regions, including McDonald’s restaurants, major shopping centres and other local venues, rallying their mates, communities and supporters behind Ronald McDonald House North Australia.

And the result?

🎉 More than $80,000 raised across Mackay and Townsville!

This year was also the first time Mackay joined Hero Week, with the region raising an incredible $10,000 in its debut.

A huge thank you to the incredible soldiers of 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) for leading the charge and showing such incredible community spirit in support of the little heroes who show up every day for treatment in hospital.

And a very special thank you to Quest on Gordon for generously donating accommodation for the 1RAR team who travelled to Mackay to be part of the week. ❤️

But Hero Week is just the beginning.

Help Our Little Heroes runs throughout September, so there’s still time for you to become a Hero!

Meet Leo — one of our very own Helping Our Little Heroes. 🕷️🦸

At just 13 years old, Leo is already proving that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

A huge Spider-Man fan, Leo has suited up to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House North Australia in two very superhero-worthy ways:

🕷️ Spidey Visits — Leo will make special appearances at birthday parties and community events, asking for a donation to Ronald McDonald House North Australia in place of payment.

💪 The Push-Up Challenge — for every $1 donated, Leo will do one push-up. Donate $20? That’s 20 push-ups — possibly even in the Spidey suit!

Leo is fundraising because he knows that when a child is seriously ill or injured, their family needs to be right there beside them.

As Leo puts it, Ronald McDonald House helps give families a place to stay, meals, support and fewer things to worry about, so they can focus on what matters most — staying close to their Little Hero.

Let’s get behind Leo and help him reach his goal. Donate, share his fundraiser or start one of your own.

Visit www.helpourlittleheroes.org.au and be a hero for a Little Hero. ❤️🕸️💙

One month on ❤️

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since the Pickerings Group of Companies Heart of the North Ronald McDonald House North Australia Gala.

It was a fantastic night, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it such a success.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, donated, sponsored and supported the evening, more than $135,000 was raised on the night.

That’s enough to provide more than two rooms of accommodation for a full year, helping families stay close to their seriously ill or injured child receiving care in hospital.

Every night a family can stay with us means one less thing for them to worry about, and more time focused on what matters most - their child.

A huge thank you to our naming partner, Pickerings Group of Companies represented by Pickerings Auto Group and Townsville Auto Group, and all of our incredible sponsors and supporters who helped make the night possible.

And to everyone who joined us on the night - thank you for helping us raise such an incredible amount for families across North Australia. 💚

❤️ HELP OUR LITTLE HEROES WEEK IS HERE! ❤️

Today we’re kicking off Help Our Little Heroes across North Australia, and we’re already seeing our communities come together to show local families they’re not alone.

From schools and businesses to workplaces, clubs, retailers and community groups, people across the region are getting involved to help families stay together when their child needs medical care.

🔴 In Townsville, Queensland Country Bank Stadium is lighting up red tonight to mark the start of the campaign.

This week only, Townsville locals can get involved at their local McDonald’s every day and meet the amazing 1RAR soldiers taking part in the campaign. There will also be activations at selected shopping centres across the weekend.

🔴 In Mackay, the Mackay Regional Council building will light up red all week, shining a light on the families who travel for their child’s medical care.

And from Friday to Sunday, you can find Help Our Little Heroes activations at selected McDonald’s restaurants across Mackay:

📍 East Mackay
📍 Andergrove
📍 North Mackay
📍 Ooralea
📍 Northern Beaches

🦸‍♀️ Plus, you can buy an exclusive Help Our Little Heroes Cape! Supplies are limited, so get in quick.

But it doesn’t stop there. Throughout September, communities across North Australia will be getting involved in their own way.

You can Be a Hero for a Hero by fundraising at your school or workplace, donating, volunteering, getting involved in a local activation or simply sharing the campaign and helping spread the word.

Because when a little hero is in hospital, they need their family behind them.

Every dollar raised through Help Our Little Heroes stays in North Queensland, helping provide accommodation, meals and practical support for families when they need it most.

❤️ Let’s turn North Australia red and show our little heroes and their families just how much their community cares.

Be a Hero for a Hero.

When Townsville’s Emmett was diagnosed with leukaemia, his family’s world changed within hours.

Through treatment in Brisbane, travel and long stays away from home, his family became the hero team beside him—lifting his spirits, keeping life familiar and helping him face each day with courage.

No Little Hero should have to take on the hard days alone.

This September, stand behind families like Emmett’s. Donate or register at www.helpourlittleheroes.org.au. Be a Hero for a Little Hero.
