By stepping on a scale, you are measuring your body’s weight. It is a pretty simplistic tool we can use to track change, but it gives us one measurement – your weight.
The weight that is presented on the scale doesn’t care if that weight is a result of adipose (fat) tissue, lean body mass (muscle), bone or fluids. It is a measurement of everything in one simple number. In fact, if you are clothed and not naked while stepping on the scale, it could reflect changes in your attire.
This is why, if you are serious about changing your body in a positive manner it is helpful to know, track and record more data than just what the scale says.
