R U OK? 💛

Four little words… and today they mean more to me than most people will probably ever realise.

Because I know what it feels like to say “I’m fine” when you are anything but fine.

I know what it is to put on the smile, keep showing up, keep working, keep being Mum, wife, friend, the person everyone can rely on… while underneath it all there is still sometimes a girl inside this woman’s body who is hurting and just trying really bloody hard to be brave.

I’ve spent a lot of my life being “the strong one”.

The one who gets back up.
The one who sorts things out.
The one who looks after everyone else.

But being strong doesn’t mean you don’t hurt.

And sometimes the strongest people are the ones who desperately need someone to look past the “I’m fine” and ask again…

No, really… are you okay?

And then stay long enough to hear the real answer.

I’ve learnt that you don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to fix anything. Sometimes just genuinely seeing someone, sitting beside them and reminding them that they matter is more powerful than you will ever know.

So today, please check on your people.

Especially your strong ones.

And if you ask “R U OK?” — mean it.

Because sometimes being genuinely seen can mean absolutely everything. 💛

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day 💛

And this one hits a little differently for me.

24 years ago, my life could have looked very different.

So today, I don’t want to post statistics or big fancy words about “breaking the stigma”. I just want to say this…

Sometimes the person who is struggling the most is the person smiling, working, raising kids, helping everyone else and looking like they have their s**t together.

Sometimes being “strong” is simply surviving a day nobody else knew was hard.

I know what it is like to be that person.

And I also know what it is like to look back years later and realise just how much life was still waiting for me.

My children. My family. The people I love. The people I hadn’t even met yet. The beautiful moments, the absolutely heartbreaking ones, and everything messy in between.

24 years of life I very nearly didn’t get to live.

So please… check on your people. And not just the ones who look like they’re struggling.

Check on your strong friend.
Check on the one who always says “I’m fine”.
Check on the one who is always looking after everyone else.

And if today you are the one quietly struggling — please stay.

Tomorrow might not magically be better. But there can be so much life still waiting for you that you simply cannot see from where you are standing today.

I know that because I lived it. 💛

Sometimes seeing the world differently means noticing things others overlook. 💙 Different perspectives don’t make the world smaller—they help us see more of it. 🌎
