EOEFY? End Of Ethan’s Financial Year

Throughout the year I don’t really take days off, I’m available 24/7 and in my “free time” have found my myself in all sorts of sticky situations from 3am foalings to sunday afternoon horses attempting to unalive themselves hung up on fences and I need a bit of R&R!

I’m off to Europe to snoop on the best European genetics at the World Young Horse Championships for dressage horses in Germany, and will hopefully come back with insights on furthering our warmblood breeding in gippsland, ahead of breeding season! Best land in the country to be breeding and growing foals if you ask me! There will also be some non-horse-related holiday-ing over there as well of course.

Anyway, if you try to get through to me and it hits message bank you know why! I will be back in action in Australia in September!

We have one appointment available with shared travel costs this Thursday 30th in the Sale/Longford area or between Traralgon and Sale between 1-2pm. We don’t make this trip very often so perfect time to get booked in for any routine work - sedated vet dentals, hoof balance X-rays, pre breeding season reproductive assessments, vaccination and microchipping etc.

These appointments always fill when we post them, so don’t wait to book in 🐴

🦷 Dentals

As we head into the wettest part of the year, we’re starting to wind down our routine dental season. With Dr Ethan away throughout August, there are only a few weeks left to have your horse’s teeth attended to before spring.

We still have appointments available over the next fortnight in Traralgon and surrounding areas, and the forecast is looking reasonably kind for mobile work.

If your horse is due, the best way to book is by texting Ethan on 0448 144 438.

📍 When you message, please include your location. As a mobile practice, we schedule horses in the same area together wherever possible. This helps minimise travel time and keeps travel costs down for everyone.

Routine sedated dentals are $220 + travel and include:
✔ General health check
✔ Sedated power dental
✔ Digital oroscopy where indicated
✔ Weight check using portable scales
✔ Sheath (colts/geldings) or udder (fillies/mares) clean.

💉 If your horse is due for tetanus + strangles vaccination, we can usually do this during the same visit—just let us know when booking.

If you’ve been meaning to book your horse in before the spring rush, now is the time.

Unfortunately online trolls have decided to anonymously post negative reviews on our business profile. This is a common tactic against veterinarians who set clear boundaries. Google makes these false reviews very hard to remove, and the best way to undo them is to drown them out with real, accurate reviews.

If Dr. Ethan has helped your horse over the last 18 months we please ask that you kindly take a few minutes to leave a review on our business profile at the following link:

Colic Season – Important Contact Information

With colic season now underway in the Traralgon region, we kindly ask all clients to ensure they provide clear and detailed information when contacting our service.

If you call and we are unable to answer, please leave a voicemail including the following:
• Your name
• Your location
• A clear description of the issue affecting your horse
(including temperature and heart rate if within your skillset)

Providing this information allows us to appropriately triage cases and prioritise urgent patients.

Please note that if these details are not included, it may not be possible to return your call in a timely or meaningful way.

During this busy period in particular, our capacity to provide phone advice for horses not currently under active care is limited (Dr Ethan is almost always giving his full attention to the patient in front of him, or on the phone managing ongoing cases). To ensure your horse receives appropriate attention, we recommend booking a consultation where a full assessment and discussion can take place.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us provide timely care to all patients during this high-demand period.
