This week is National Reconciliation Week, a time to learn about shared histories, cultures and achievements, and consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

The week incorporates significant milestones: 27 May marks the anniversary of the successful 1967 Referendum, and 3 June marks the anniversary of the High Court Mabo decision.

At Adssi (on Darkinjung (Darkinyung) and Gurrangi (Guringai / GuriNgai) Country), we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live their best lives with care at home. This year’s theme, “All In”, is a reminder that reconciliation isn’t something we watch from the sidelines; it’s something we practise through respect, listening, learning, and culturally safe care every day.

This week is just one part of a wider season of significant days and weeks.

The faces of volunteering. 💛

We’re looking back on our Volunteer Week celebrations and the wonderful people who make our community services what they are. For many of our volunteers, it’s not only about giving back. It’s also about friendship, purpose and staying connected with the community.

This year’s theme was Your Year to Volunteer, so if you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now is a great time to take that first step.

Give us a call or visit our website to find out more:

Thank you for volunteering!

During National Volunteer Week, we were proud to pause and say thank you to our amazing volunteers.

Our morning tea was a lovely chance to come together, enjoy a cuppa, share stories, and have some fun with trivia. It was also a chance to recognise the time, care, and energy our volunteers give so freely.

Whether helping with social activities, driving clients, or supporting our teams, our volunteers help make our services feel personal, friendly, and community-focused.

Thank you to every volunteer. You make a real difference.

This week, we’re supporting National Road Safety Week.

With many of our team on the road each day, safe driving is essential — not just for our staff, but for the clients we transport and support.

It’s a good reminder to slow down, stay focused, and look out for one another every time we drive.

Today, we celebrate the incredible mothers and mother-like figures who are such an important part of our communities.

From the care and support you give to your families to the kindness and compassion you show others, your impact reaches far beyond what is often seen. Many of our clients and staff embody this role every day, offering strength, guidance and support that form the backbone of our communities.

Thank you for all that you do, today and every day.

Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful Mother’s Day 💐

There are often warning signs of falls — and spotting them early can make all the difference. ⚠️

Unsteadiness.
Feeling unwell.
Using furniture to walk.
Confusion.

If you’re concerned about someone, start a conversation, we're here to help. A simple chat and the right support can help prevent a fall and keep someone living safely at home. 🦺

On ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the service and sacrifice of all who have served. It is a time to reflect on how conflict has shaped their lives, and how we, as a community, can continue to show respect and provide meaningful support.

We are privileged to support veterans, along with the widows and families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, across our services.

Lest we forget.

Our offices will be closed on Monday, 27 April, for the NSW public holiday.

Often feeling confused or unsure? Changes in awareness or memory can increase the risk of falls.

You might forget where you are, feel disoriented or have trouble focusing.

These signs are important. A conversation with our team can help identify what support is needed to keep you or your loved one safe.

Using furniture to move around can seem helpful, but it can be a sign that extra support is needed.

A walking aid, home changes, or a quick check-in can make a big difference. Start the conversation early to help keep everyone safe at home.
