What’s In Season This Spring (what to eat & why)🥬

If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know how much I LOVE the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I infuse them into the way I eat every season, not as another set of food rules, but as a way of tuning into what my body might need as the seasons shift.

✨ In TCM, spring is associated with the Wood element and the Liver + Gallbladder: a season of growth, expansion, movement and new beginnings.

After the slower, more inward energy of winter, spring encourages us to gently lighten things up.

On my plate, that looks like more fresh greens, herbs, sprouts, colourful seasonal vegetables and bright, slightly sour flavours like lemon, alongside plenty of warm and lightly cooked foods to continue supporting digestion.

Personally, I think nourishment goes so much further than food. Here’s why .. 👇

Spring is my reminder to move my body, get outside, soak up the morning sun, open the windows, clear out stagnant energy and make space for new ideas and creativity.

It’s one of the reasons I love eating seasonally so much. Our bodies don’t exist separately from nature, and there’s something really beautiful about allowing the seasons to guide what ends up in our baskets, on our plates and in our daily rituals.

So, steal my Australian spring produce shopping list for your next grocery shop or farmers market run!

Save this for your next market run!

🤍 Because, your life is worth nourishing.

In a world that seems increasingly obsessed with women taking up less space, I can’t help but think about the long-term cost.

• Medications used purely to suppress appetite.
• Chronic under-eating.
• Over-exercising.
• Fear of gaining weight.
• Constantly asking our bodies to survive on less.

These may all look different, but physiologically, they can share something in common: they can place the body under stress and increase the risk of nutritional depletion when taken too far.

I’ve worked with hundreds of women who spent their 20s trying to make their bodies smaller (myself included). I had an eating disorder for 5 years, and it directly contributed to my PCOS, Chronic Fatigue, and mental health that’s for sure.

There’s ALWAYS a trade off …

Then their 30s arrived, and years of pushing, restricting and overriding their body’s needs started to show up in ways they could no longer ignore.

Low energy. Poor recovery. Hormonal disruption. Changes to their cycle. Digestive issues. Hair and skin changes. A complicated relationship with food and exercise.

Can you relate?

Remember, your body was never designed to be endlessly depleted in pursuit of being smaller. All it wants is to feel safe, and to be nourished.

It truly breaks my heart to see another generation of women sacrificing their strength, nourishment and long-term health to fit a body trend that will inevitably change again.

✨Personally, I’d rather take up space.

I’d rather have lean muscle on my frame, mental clarity to perform at work, energy to live my life and a nervous system that feels safe.

🤍Remember, your life is worth nourishing.

Your Holistic Guide to Glowing Skin: starting this September [Ep: 01]

I had acne for 17 years .. I healed it naturally (which I never thought was possible) and this September I’m teaching you exactly how, the framework, the food, the science, the whole thing.

Here’s what I have in store to help you undertake a holistic approach to glowing skin;

1. The 4 Pillars: what actually drives hormonal acne

2. Food As Medicine: what to eat (and limit) for clearer skin

3. The Gut–Hormone Connection: this is the piece nobody talks about

4. My Holistic Skin Rituals: products, self-care rituals, treatments and tools

But I want this series to actually be useful to YOU, not just what I assume you want to know.

👇 Comment 1, 2, 3, or 4. Which one are you most curious about? OR tell me your biggest skin struggle right now and I’ll make sure it’s covered this month.

Your life is worth nourishing 🤍

Unfortunately, gluten-free doesn’t automatically mean healthier… and it’s disspointing that a lot of gluten-free breads are proof of that ..

When I’m choosing bread, I’m not just looking for the words gluten-free on the packet. I’m looking at what it’s actually made from. (let me teach you how).

Many gluten-free breads are built around refined starches, added fats, gums and fillers, with very little protein or fibre to actually keep you nourished and satisfied.

As a Nutritionist, I’m looking for simple, recognisable ingredients, whole-food sources of fibre and ideally 3g+ protein per serve, without a long list of gums, sugars and syrups.

And because I know I’ll get asked… Almond Road is the only gluten-free bread I personally eat and trust.

Their bread is handcrafted locally in Mullumbimby (which I LOVE supporting 🤎) and made with ingredients like almond meal, coconut flour, flaxseed and psyllium husk (no gums, fillers or for sneaky tricks).

It’s a really good example of why I always say: don’t shop by the claim on the front of the packet, ALWAYS flip the pack to reveal what’s actually inside.

🛒 Save this for your next grocery shop!

What food should I break down next? 👇

Before I became a Nutritionist, I used to think being “healthy” meant eating the right foods, hitting my macros, exercising, and doing all the things we’re ‘told’ are good for us.

But the more I’ve moved through my own health journey, the more I’ve realised that we are constantly consuming, and not all of it comes on a plate.

We consume the energy of the people around us. The conversations we have. The content we scroll. The environments we spend our days in. The thoughts we repeat. The way we speak to ourselves.

And I’ve learnt that all of it can either nourish us or deplete us.

This is also why I believe FOOD is so much more than hitting your macros.

Yes, protein matters. Micronutrients matter. Blood sugar matters. But food can also be a ritual. A moment of presence. A way of caring for yourself. A reason to slow down, use your hands, gather around a table and reconnect with yourself and the people you love.

✨It’s why I’m so passionate about creating high-frequency recipes + rituals that don’t just tick a nutritional box, but make you feel something.

Cooking with intention & presence.
Eating without rushing.
Morning sunlight.
Moving my body.
Ocean swims.
Deep conversations.
Creating beautiful meals.
Surrounding myself with people who EXPAND me.

These seemingly small rituals have transformed the way I experience my life, and, as a result, my health too.

Because nourishment isn’t just about what you put into your body.

It’s about what you allow into your life. 🤍

Your life is worth nourishing.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the data. But somewhere along the way, I think we’ve become so focused on tracking our health that we’ve forgotten how to *actually* feel it.

Health isn’t just what your watch, app or calorie tracker tells you.

It’s how you feel after you eat.
How you feel when you move.
How deeply you sleep.
The people you surround yourself with.
The energy you have for the things you love.
And whether you’re actually enjoying the life you’re working so hard to make “healthy.”

Because your body is giving you feedback all day long, we just need to learn how to listen. I learned this the hard way, which is why I’m so passionate about helping YOU!

If you’re ready to understand your body on a deeper level and work with it, rather than against it, Ebb & Flow teaches you how to eat, move and live in sync with your menstrual cycle.

Your life is worth nourishing. 🤍
