🌮🎉 WHAT A FIESTA AT GLAICA LTD! 🎉🌮

This week, GLAICA Ltd came alive with colour, laughter, music, and the delicious aromas of Mexico as residents, staff, and visitors came together to celebrate our wonderful Mexican Theme Day! 🇲🇽🌵

From the moment the festivities began, there was an incredible atmosphere throughout the home. Our amazing staff fully embraced the spirit of the day, dressing up in vibrant Mexican-inspired outfits, sombreros, ponchos, and colourful accessories that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, fun, and community spirit shared by all involved.

The kitchen team certainly outdid themselves, preparing a fantastic spread of traditional Mexican-inspired foods that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Residents were treated to a delicious selection of flathead fish tacos, chicken enchiladas with Mexican rice, fresh salads and churros with chocolate dipping sauces. The dining areas were beautifully decorated to match the theme, creating a warm and festive environment where everyone could relax, socialise, and enjoy the celebrations together.

One of the highlights of the day was the piñatas, which brought plenty of excitement, laughter, and entertainment for both residents and staff alike! The joy and happiness throughout the day were truly heartwarming, with so many wonderful moments shared between residents, families, and team members.

At GLAICA Ltd, we believe that creating meaningful experiences and opportunities for connection is such an important part of everyday life. Days like these not only bring fun and excitement, but also help foster friendships, encourage engagement, and create lasting memories for everyone in our community.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible Lifestyle Team, kitchen staff, and all employees who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the day such a tremendous success. Your dedication, creativity, and passion continue to make GLAICA Ltd such a special place to live and work.

❄️🧣 WINTER DRIVE 2026 🧤❤️

As the colder months begin to settle across our community, many individuals and families are facing winter without the basic comforts that so many of us often take for granted. At GLAICA Ltd, we believe that no one should have to endure the winter season without warmth, care, and support. That is why we are proud to be partnering with Homebase for our 2026 Winter Drive — a community initiative dedicated to helping those who are less fortunate stay safe and warm throughout winter. ❄️🏠

We are calling on our wonderful community, families, staff, friends, and supporters to come together and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Every donation, no matter how big or small, has the power to bring comfort, warmth, and hope to someone doing it tough this winter. ❤️🫶

All donations can be dropped off at reception at either of our GLAICA Ltd facilities during business hours. Our team will ensure that all items are delivered to Homebase and distributed throughout our local community to those who need them most. 🚗📦

📅 The Winter Drive will officially conclude on 1st July, and we encourage everyone to get involved before then. Together, we can show the true strength and compassion of our community by helping provide warmth, dignity, and kindness to people experiencing hardship this winter. ❄️🤝

🌵 Fiesta Update from GLAICA Ltd! 🌮🎉

Last week we shared the exciting news about our upcoming Mexican Fiesta Day that was originally planned for the 20th May… unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to postpone the celebration.

BUT… the good news is that the fiesta fun is still coming, and we are very excited to announce that our Mexican Day celebration will now be taking place on Wednesday 27th May! 💃🎶🌵

Our residents, staff, and Lifestyle Teams are still eagerly preparing for a fantastic day filled with colour, laughter, music, dancing, delicious Mexican-inspired food, games, decorations, and plenty of smiles across both GLAICA House and Pacific Cape Lodge. 🌮🎊🪇

At GLAICA Ltd, these themed celebration days are about so much more than just dressing up and having fun — they are about bringing people together, creating connection, sharing laughter, and making beautiful memories for our residents and staff to enjoy together. Events like these bring so much joy into our homes, and we cannot wait to celebrate with everyone very soon. 💛

A very special thank you goes to our amazing Lifestyle Teams, chefs, and staff who continue to put so much creativity, enthusiasm, and love into every event they organise. ☕🫖🌼💛 Today at GLAICA Ltd’s Pacific Cape Lodge, our residents, staff, families, and friends gathered together to celebrate Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, and what a truly beautiful and heartfelt day it was. The lodge was filled with warmth, laughter, friendship, and a wonderful sense of community as everyone came together for such an important cause.

From the moment our residents and staff arrived proudly dressed in yellow 💛🌼, there was a feeling of joy throughout the home. Beautiful cups of tea were shared ☕, teapots poured endlessly 🫖, delicious homemade treats were enjoyed, and conversations and laughter filled the room. It was a day where everyone could simply sit together, connect, and enjoy each other’s company while supporting something meaningful.

A very special thank you must go to our incredible Lifestyle Team, whose dedication, creativity, kindness, and passion continue to make days like this so memorable for our residents. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, from the decorations to the activities and the warm atmosphere created throughout the day. Their ability to bring happiness, connection, and excitement into our homes is truly something special, and today was just one small example of the wonderful experiences they create for our residents every single week. 🌼💛

Events like the Biggest Morning Tea are such a beautiful reminder that aged care is about so much more than support — it is about community, friendship, celebration, and creating moments that make people smile.

To all of our wonderful residents, families, staff, and visitors who joined in, donated, wore yellow 💛, shared a cuppa ☕, and helped make the day so special — thank you. Your support and community spirit helped create a day full of love, laughter, and kindness.

And the celebrations are not over yet! Across the pond at GLAICA House, another wonderful Biggest Morning Tea was enjoyed today, and we look forward to sharing those beautiful photos with everyone over the weekend. Once all donations have been finalised, we will also be excited to let everyone know just how much money was raised for such an amazing cause. ☕🫖🌼

Hi, my name is Evan McMahon I have a strong background in hospitality, with over a decade of experience as a Head Chef, leading teams and managing kitchen operations. In 2023, l transitioned into the aged care sector, where I apply my love of fresh food and restaurant experience in a care-based environment. I am looking forward to contributing positively to resident wellbeing and team culture at Glaica Limited.
