The team and I, and everyone at would like to wish this special man a very happy 90th birthday! 🎂🎈

Len was one of my first clients when I started at Tweed 8yrs ago and for a long time has been part of the gym furniture. Len left school at 14 and signed up to the army at age 20. He served 20yrs in the military spending time overseas in both Malaya and going on to serve in the Vietnam war. Len was a professional trumpet player and also played for the likes of Shirley Bassey all over Australia.

He trains 3x/wk and often comes in for a coffee and a chat on other days, having made many friends around the gym. Len’s faced many health challenges over the years but proves stronger every time.

Aside from all of our many great conversations and laughs, one of my favourite memories with Len is the day he brought his trumpet into the gym. I could hear it from the gym floor, peaked through the window and saw him giving the reception staff a rendition! 🎺

You’re an absolute pleasure to work with Len, and we hope you feel the love today 💙

As a Vietnam veteran, Normie has faced significant physical and mental challenges throughout his life. Following multiple shoulder reconstructions, spinal fusions, and ongoing management of PTSD, maintaining an active lifestyle can be difficult. Yet Norm continues to prioritise his health and wellbeing.

He attends his Exercise Physiology sessions 3 times per week to help manage his conditions, maintain his strength, support his mobility, and continue doing the things that matter most to him.

For many people, exercise is an important tool for managing chronic pain, improving function, supporting mental health, and maintaining independence.

Consistency doesn’t mean being pain-free. It means finding ways to keep moving forward, even when life has thrown plenty of obstacles in your path.

We’re proud to be part of Norm’s journey 💙

💙 EXERCISE RIGHT WEEK 💙

Exercise isn’t just about doing more, it’s about doing what’s right for your body.

The right exercise can help:
✔️ Reduce pain
✔️ Improve strength & function
✔️ Support heart health
✔️ Help manage chronic conditions

Without the right guidance though, it’s easy to aggravate injuries, plateau, or feel constantly fatigued.

That’s where Exercise Physiology makes the difference.

Our Exercise Physiologists prescribe individualised exercise to help you move better, feel stronger, and improve your quality of life safely.

If you’ve been struggling with pain, injury, chronic health conditions, or just don’t know where to start with exercise, send us a message 💪🏼

Don’t sleep on high blood pressure 😴❤️

High blood pressure (hypertension) is often called the “silent killer” for a reason. Most people feel completely normal while it’s slowly placing extra stress on the heart, blood vessels, brain, and kidneys.

Left unmanaged, it can increase the risk of:
• Heart attack
• Stroke
• Heart failure
• Kidney disease

The good news? Exercise is one of the most effective non-medication tools we have to help manage blood pressure.

Regular movement can help:
✔️ Improve cardiovascular health
✔️ Reduce resting blood pressure
✔️ Improve circulation and vessel function
✔️ Support weight management, stress, and sleep

Small changes done consistently can make a massive difference long term 🔑

If you’re unsure where to start, one of our Exercise Physiologists can help guide you safely based on your current fitness, injuries, medical history, and goals.
