Looking for a walk that won’t leave you questioning your life choices or your fitness levels? 🏃‍♀️✨ I found the perfect spot! This isn't just another pier; it’s basically a time machine with better views. 🌊🕰️

As you stroll along, you’ll run into a big, bright yellow building. This is the restored 1880 waiting shed! 💛 If you close your eyes, you can almost see the Victorian crowds in their fancy gowns and top hats, waiting for a ferry to cross the bay. 👗🎩 (Way more elegant than me in my trakky daks and tie dye shirt).

Once you pass through, there’s another yellow building on the left. That’s the lifeboat shed! 🚣‍♂️ Honestly, it makes "Delores" (aka my anxiety) feel very reassured. If we were traveling back in the day, Delores would definitely appreciate a solid exit strategy! 😅🧘‍♀️

If you’re visiting Queenscliff, you have to stop here. It’s short, sweet, and full of history! ⚓️☀️

BD (Before Delores) - Anyone else have major regrets? 🤔 Feel free to share and see if you can possibly beat mine!

Back in my 20s, I was working as a nanny in Vancouver and spontaneously decided to hitchhike all the way up to Tuktoyaktuk at the top of the world. 🗺️🎒 First, you have to arrive in Inuvik before taking a small plane over. Being young and silly, I hitchhiked and camped in this incredibly remote area all the way to Inuvik. Delores (my anxiety) wasn't around back then to talk me out of it!. 🚗🏕️

A lovely guy picked me up for the last part of the journey, and once I got my tent all set up, he invited me out for a drink at the only pub in town. Well, one drink turned into two, which turned into five... and let’s just say I was a little more than tipsy when I finally stumbled back to my tent. 🍻🥴🏃‍♀️

The next morning, the entire campground was raving and talking excitedly. 🗣️✨ Supposedly, the night before had been one of the most breathtaking, impressive Northern Lights displays in ages. And guess what? Yours truly missed the whole bloody thing being completely inebriated! 🌌❌🙈

I stayed up there for a few more nights, hoping for a repeat, but the sky remained pitch black. Nothing. Nada. Zip. My absolute one chance to see the Aurora Borealis, and I missed it as I was too drunk to look up! 😭🌌

Alright, let's hear it—can anyone top that level of FOMO?! 👇🤪

Ahhh well, this one is officially the longest walk I’ve done for a while—9km return! 🥾🌳 Lucky you didn't see me the next day, because I was honestly walking like I’d just ridden a horse across the fields! 🤠😂

But oh my goodness, this trail was stunning from start to finish. ✨ The climb is steady to reach the falls, but there is enough up-and-down terrain that it never feels too brutal. You walk right through lush fern gullies and under these gorgeous, towering trees—it seriously feels like stepping into another world. 🌿🦕

And then there’s the ultimate reward at the end (apart from my chocolate bar! 🍫)💨 The stunning Steavenson Falls! With it being winter, the water was absolutely gushing. It was completely mesmerizing just standing there watching the water flow. 🌊😍

The best part of the whole walk? It’s an easy, gentle downhill all the way back to Marysville, where there are plenty of brilliant cafes waiting to help you refuel! ☕🍰

Ahh, Coppins Lookout! 😅 Yes, there are stairs, and yes, my body absolutely hates them... but is it worth it? 💯% Yes, a million times over! 🌊✨

It was even worth walking up twice! 🤦‍♀️ Yep, my phone died just as I reached the top. With views like that, I couldn't miss the photo opportunity, so I climbed all the way back down, grabbed my charger, and cursed every single step on the way back up. 🔋🚶‍♀️🤬

It's a short but steep walk, with seats to chill on when your legs turn to jelly, and views to die for. Definitely worth it! 🌅👁️👄👁️👌

Are you ever too old to embarrass your sibling? 🤷‍♀️😂 Spoiler alert: Absolutely not. It is a lifelong duty and a sacred bond.

Last weekend, my sister Marita and I went to gorgeous Marysville to document some walks. Everything was going beautifully until we came across a massive fallen log completely blocking the trail. 🌲🚧

Naturally, being the responsible, civic-minded explorer that I am, I knew what had to be done. I looked at my sister with absolute gravity and told her I needed to record a highly serious, official video to report this major safety hazard. 🧐📋

She dutifully pulled out her phone, hit record, and braced herself for some professional footage. See what happened below!

The Golden Rule of Siblings: If you aren't making them question their genetic relation to you in public, are you even really trying? 💅

✨ Lightscape at the Royal Botanic Gardens ✨

Wow, just wow! 🤩 We went to Lightscapes last night, and even though it was our fourth time attending, I’ve got to say it was probably my absolute favorite. 🌟 The lights were incredible, and the displays were completely amazing!

If you are planning to go, here is a helpful breakdown of what to expect, especially regarding accessibility:

🚶‍♂️ The Walk & Accessibility

The Distance: The entire trail is about a 2.5 km walk.

The Terrain: It is totally accessible for wheels, but please note there are hills. If you are pushing a wheelchair or pram, be prepared for some uphill sections.

Drop-offs: Parking can be a real challenge. You could easily walk another 2.5 km just trying to find a spot! If you have mobility issues, I highly recommend getting dropped off at the entrance.

Accessible Parking: There are two accessible parking spaces directly opposite the entry. Just keep in mind that the walk ends further down the road, so the exit is not in the same spot as the entrance.

🚻 Toilets & Amenities

There are accessible toilets located along the trail.

Halfway Point: About halfway around, you will hit the Terrace, which is a great spot to grab food and drinks. ☕🌭

Important Tip: The accessible toilets inside the Terrace area were locked when we went. It is best to use the facilities further back on the trail before you reach the food area just in case!

It is honestly so well worth going to. ✨ 📸

Waterways: The Walk That Understands Me

Let’s be honest, I enjoy a walk, but I enjoy stopping even more. 🛑🚶‍♂️ And folks, The Waterways gets it.

This place is not just pretty; it is the Olympic Village of sitting down. 🏅 There are benches everywhere. You can essentially bench-hop your way around the entire lake without ever breaking a sweat.

The MVP: There is a reclining bench near the playground that is calling my name. 💺✨ I tried it out, lay back, closed my eyes... pure bliss. Until the screaming started. 🗣️🎢

Serious Question: Is it rude to ask children at a playground to keep the noise down so I can nap? Asking for a friend. 🤫👶

Once you’ve finished your "exercise" (read: napping publicly), the ultimate reward awaits: The Nest. ☕🍰 It’s easily the coolest cafe on the water.

Come for views, stay for the cake. 🍰👟

Rye Pier: The "Bourke Street" of the Bay! 🏛️🌊

Okay, let’s talk about Rye Pier. On a sunny day, it is busier than Bourke St! 🏃‍♂️💨 You’ll need some serious ninja skills to dodge and weave around:

Sightseers taking the perfect selfie 🤳✨

Fishermen with rods at every angle 🎣🐟

Kids doing massive bombs off the side 💣💦

And divers lugging around enough gear to colonize Mars! 🤿👽

It isn’t a huge walk, but it is a beautiful one. The pier itself is solid with great timber and sturdy rails—an absolute win if, like me, your balance isn't exactly "Olympic gymnast" level. 🪵💪

What I love most? Looking out to sea. The water is an incredible, glistening blue, and on a good day, you can actually see the fish swimming right beneath you. 🐠💎

If you look back towards the shore, you’d swear you were somewhere in the Mediterranean... 🇮🇹🍷 ...at least until someone shouts, "G'day mate! Can you take me picture?" 🇦🇺📸

Want to check it out for yourself without the stress? I've got you covered!
