Reminiscing on my girls surprise virtual baby shower.
We popped in with nibbles, cookies, McDonald’s + a zoom meeting loaded with some amazing ladies to celebrate baby G.
From smiles, to tears, our girl was completely surprised, loved and completely exhausted from her virtual baby shower.

Have you ever been a bridesmaid?

One of the most honourable role to be granted.... ....and it can be one of the most stressful.

As a makeup artist, we see it all. We see all types, from super cruisey brides to your perfectionists.

This goes for bridesmaids too.

Often, a bridesmaid is asked to wear a dress that they wouldn’t normally wear, have their hair styled a certain way, wear heels or no heels and do it all with a smile on their face.

Then comes the hens party! Planning a once in a life time experience for your girl, organising the perfect day or weekend, catering for different needs, the drinkers and the non drinkers, and let’s not forget the organisation of payments from a group of people, some you may have never met!

Shout out to all the bridesmaids out there, for being the best support for your brides!

Have you made a sock mask???

In today’s Remote Teaching, I taught my students to make sock masks!

VERY EASY!!

Step 1: cut the toes + heel off your sock
Step 2: flatten your sock (should be a rectangle
Step 3: snip an 8cm line at the ends of each side but only through one layer
Step 4: put over your face + hook on your ears.

Keep those bad vibes away!!.

After my previous post, I had a few lovely people reach out and tell me how they are coping through this lockdown.

The one common “vibe” I got from everyone was; as s**t of a situation we are all living in right now, not overthinking it and not putting pressure on ourselves seems to be the best way to keep happy.

This goes for those parents out there coaching their kids through remote learning. The parents who are working from home with young kids to entertain whilst working and to those who might be temporarily out of work.

Don’t put pressure on yourself or your family.

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter if Netflix + Disney took the role of parent whilst you worked? Does it really matter if your lounge room is covered in toys, colouring pencils + rice?
Does it really matter that your child only logged on to part of their remote learning for the day?

NO! No it doesn’t matter.
Tomorrow is a new day, another day in lockdown and another day to not overthink it and just do what works for YOU and your family.

To keep positive, I FINALLY got out of denial and purchased some cloth masks. (Part of me refused to accept the fact we have to wear them so I only purchased the disposable masks)
But now, my fresh new mindset, keeping positive in s**tty situation, making the most of it and I purchased these two babies.

Don’t let your mask silence your voice!

More than ever, we need to speak! We need to let others know how we’re feeling. Even if you’re unsure about how you’re feeling right now, talk about that!

With so much uncertainty going on around us, it’s okay to not be feeling “right”.

I know, here in our household, we are patiently waiting for more announcements with clarification of permitted workers, childcare and trades.
Can my husband keep working? If so, for how long?
As a teacher, working from home, am I a permitted worker? Can my kids go to daycare whilst I’m teaching online?

Soooo many questions, with so many interpretations of what the rules mean.

In the meantime, I’m trying to be positive, I’m distracting myself by catching up on emails, absorbing as much info I can and playing with my babes.

A big FAT SORRY! 😢😢

I’m sorry I’ve neglected this space!
I’m sorry I haven’t been here!!

This lockdown and temporarily closing of my doors has really got me down!

I miss you all! I miss painting those beautiful faces and getting my brides ready for their special day.

Reshuffling appointments and wedding dates has been heartbreaking. I feel for each and everyone of you.
..I really want to do what I can to help lift others on this online space during this time.

I want to know, how are you!? How has this latest lockdown 🔐 affected you!? 💔

I’m going to keep my (newly fixed) eyes peeled for makeup, hair and beauty specials and try my hardest to get some content to you, to help with being at home for the next 6 weeks!
