I really believe in the value of counselling to support people with all sorts of relational issues, to reflect, to help deepen connection. I often work with couples who have waiting soooooo long to take that first step, to go to a counsellor. The first step is awesome though! I’m just sharing this to encourage more people to take that step… to utilise the support of counselling more!

Self-worth isn’t a solo project.

Nobody develops it in isolation. We’re wired for connection — it’s not optional, it’s survival. And our very first relationships wrote the blueprint for how we see ourselves in relation to others.

That blueprint can be rewritten. A partner can help you heal the self-esteem cracks that started in childhood — the ones that hit closest to home. Learning to support each other in our unique vulnerabilities is important relational work. This is some of the core work we do in counselling sessions, building foundations for stronger relationships.

So much information out there….. which is amazing. And there is so much value in sitting face to face with another human in the counselling room. There is a sensitivity we can work with moment to moment that no AI can really compete with. Feel free to message me to work with me in Bangalow or Byron (and also online with the awesome video technology of zoom)

Work with me. Gain clarity, improve communication and build connection in your relationships. I have clients who work with me online from all over Australia, and work with people in-person out of session rooms in Byron Bay and Bangalow.

Safety and desire are both necessary in intimacy, yet there is a paradox to them coexisting in intimate relationships. What do you think? Thoughts inspired here via Ether Perel.

Just showing up is the first step to transformation and growth. Even though there are things that seem to get in the way of us committing to regular counseling sessions - money, time, resistance - if you really want to see change, committing to something regularly (even if it’s every month) encourages accountability and growth. Message me if you want to discuss. I work with couples and individuals online and in Byron and Bangalow (Northern NSW Australia) couplestherapy

This is my counselling space in Bangalow. It has a warm and light energy, a space that can hold and support all sorts of conversations and work. Last week I supported a couple in talk about their intention to come back together in deeper connections after years of managing grief. Last week I supported two people in the early stages of their separation after many years married. Tears and smiles, grief and praise, love and heartbreak. We are beautifully complex humans, and there can be important value in receiving support to navigate the deep waters of life.

When we experience rejection or hurt, we tend to go into some form of self protection. Sometimes that protection looks like hurting back, other times it gets internalised and we end up sinking into patterns of self harm. This is the stuff we get curious about out in counselling…. With compassion and kindness. Appreciated this conversation by
