🚑❤️ WHAT IF YOU COULD HELP SAVE A LIFE BEFORE THE AMBULANCE ARRIVES?

Every year, more than 9,000 people in NSW experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. When this happens, every second matters. For every minute CPR is delayed, a person's chance of survival drops significantly.

That is why we wanted to shine a spotlight on an incredible initiative from NSW Ambulance called GoodSAM.

📱 GoodSAM is a free smartphone app that alerts registered volunteers when someone nearby is experiencing a cardiac arrest. While paramedics are already on their way, local community members can begin lifesaving CPR in those critical first few minutes.

Think about that for a moment.

The person who helps save a life could be:
✅ A nurse finishing their shift
✅ A support worker heading home
✅ A neighbour walking their dog
✅ A parent at the local shops
✅ You

Since launching in NSW, GoodSAM volunteers have already helped save lives across the state by stepping in when every second counted. Recent stories have shown everyday people responding to alerts and helping keep someone alive until paramedics arrived.

At Nursing Solutions Group, we believe communities become stronger when people look out for one another. This initiative is a powerful reminder that lifesaving support doesn't always begin when the ambulance arrives—it often begins with a person willing to help.

If you are over 18 and willing to perform CPR, you may be eligible to become a GoodSAM volunteer. NSW Ambulance provides information on how to register and prepare for alerts.
