Our qualified, registered and friendly therapists and educators weave practical strategies and skills into enjoyable learning and therapy programs and fun-filled approaches that foster and support effective literacy, numeracy and life skill development. Assessments and targeted therapy programs (including the development of functional and effective literacy, numeracy and life skills):

ART THERAPY
Emotional, cognitive, social, behavioural, communication and physical goals through creative interpretation through art. EDUCATIONAL THERAPY
Counselling and developmental strategy development to assist students to optimise their social skills and educational strategies. EARLY LEARNING
Specifically for younger students, the focus is on social skill development and early literacy and numeracy skills

PSYCHOLOGY
Assessment and life skill strategy development, emotional and social health and growth, cognitive assessments. Our Provisional Psychology team offers psychology, counselling and assessment services. REFERRALS
Private, bulk-bill and NDIS clients are all welcome. NDIS clients (plan and self-managed) welcome. We comply with the recommended prices for therapeutic services as listed by NDIS. We provide bulk billing for Medicare services as well as HICAPS for private clients. We can provide developmental observations, user friendly reports and effective therapy programs for children referred by:
- GP’s and Paediatricians (including Enhanced Care Plans)
- Allied Health Professionals
- A range of Government departments
- Classroom/ Special Education Teachers, Preschools and Schools
- Early Learning Centres
- Childcare Centres

A sad tale of hacking woes in 2025.
A HAPPY tale of TELEHEALTH appointment availability for PSYCHOLOGY and SPEECH PATHOLOGY in 2026!

The sad story goes like this... Ignore if not interested but a cautionary tale about social media and hacking.
Many of you would recall that in March / April of 2025, our Synergy page was hacked by someone with an email address in Thailand. Facebook took the step of IMMEDIATELY freezing / deleting our Synergy account and, after a week or so of attempting to contact FB (and receiving nothing), we were forced to open a new accounts with new email and contact details.
And no, there is no common address for a business owner (or private citizen) to ask what is happening.
Then, suddenly, with no announcement or fanfare, the original account was returned to us as if nothing had happened (other than 9 months without access or ability to use it).
We now know have an idea about why FB took that action, but it took some deep diving into the Meta Business suite and archival files in advertising.
The hacker had well and truly hacked our advertising account and had wracked up THOUSANDS of dollars of unpaid advertising which, after being stung by FB for one mysterious payment, we blocked through our bank.
Bottom line? We still cannot advertise on FB as we now have a 'poor payment record' even thought it was not us!!! We have asked for a review of this decision but, to date, nothing has changed.

WE CANNOT boost our posts or even engage in any advertising through FB. The photo below shows our deep frustration with this situation which is out of our control.

We have availability for PSYCHOLOGY on Wednesdays with a highly experienced Psychologist and availability on Saturdays (9 am - 2pm) for SPEECH PATHOLGY - and we will be opening up Mondays very soon.

What a busy start to the year! Our Behaviour Support practitioner is hard at work with school returning and some older students in high school for the first time. She will have a vacancy after the April / Easter break.
We still have available TELEHEALTH appointments for:
* Minu, our qualified, experienced (7 years) Speech Pathologist on SATURDAY 10:30 am and 1 pm. All ages, all stages of life and all Speech and literacy development clients welcome (NDIS, private, Medicare, Insurance rehabilitation).
* Dennam, our qualified, experienced (8 years) PSYCHOLOGIST on WEDNESDAY afternoons for 1 pm and 3pm (and an appointment Wednesday morning at 10am as of early April). All ages, all stages of life and NDIS, private, Medicare and Insurance / Rehabilitation clients welcome.

May Monday, 26th January signify a day of celebration for all Australians and be a reflection on all the great things in this country.
Some therapy sessions resumed this week at Synergy Learning and Therapy and we currently have availability in Psychology (Wednesday only / telehealth) and Speech Pathology (alternate Saturdays and Monday only / telehealth). Unfortunately, we do not have availability for first term 2026 Behaviour Support.
Minu has joined our team as an experienced Speech Pathologist and offers a range of Speech Pathology services including a focus on literacy / numeracy acquisition for school aged students.
For children between 18 months - 4 years, Minu is offering a parent mentoring and support program (telehealth) with direct observation and engagement of younger learners with parental help. For other students, Minu has strong experience in telehealth programs, includng behaviour support, so if you and your student are in Brisbane, or anywhere in Australia, please share her current availability. Minu has two spots available for Saturday morning.

Please share as these telehealth appointments, particularly Saturday, with an experienced Speech Pathologist do not come often.

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately, Synergy Learning and Therapy has been 'absent' from social media for around a month as an accident, ill health and a close and upfront lingering encounter with the medical profession took priority!!
Thank you to all of our clients - past and present - who heard the news and offered support, healthy, healing vibes and patience as we got back on track for an exciting new year!! And yes, health issues are - hopefully - behind us!
With that in mind, we ARE open for more TELEHEALTH sessions with Minu, our new Speech Pathologist on Saturdays and Monday afternoons and with Dennam, our Psychologist on Wednesdays.
I won't brag about their professional experience and expertise but appointments are limited, if you require SPEECH Pathology or Psychology support.
Just a reminder. We ONLY do telehealth but cater for clients from 2 years (parent programs) up to wise elders!

Our wishes go to Darwin folk who are experiencing their first cyclone of the season. Cyclone Fina is currently Category 2 and will pass Darwin tomorrow.
Fina has already wandered past the Tiwi Islands north of Darwin but has now circled back to hit them from the other side (closer to Darwin). Rain and winds are on their way!
It's been 50 years since Cyclone Tracy destroyed Darwin in 1974. Precautions have been taken and currently Darwinites are bunkering down to see how Fina treats them.
The good thing? Telehealth links have been sent to clients for Saturday appointments and appointments will continue as usual.

Happy Birthday to Synergy Learning and Therapy! We're 20 years old and started life in Narangba, North Brisbane.
Now, we're telehealth around Australia, with a focus on delivering quality allied health therapies to urban, rural and remote communities.

Best news? WE HAVE IMMEDIATE CAPACITY in PSYCHOLOGY and SPEECH PATHOLOGY (and are taking wait list appointments for Behaviour Support)

Our therapists are qualified, registered and experienced and we have availability for NDIS, private and Medicare clients. We cater for children (including parent programs for children under the age of three years), students, teenagers and adults.

We currently have TELEHEALTH availability with Dennam, an experienced PSYCHOLOGIST and with our SPEECH PATHOLOGIST (with parent intake sessions starting in mid January 2026).

We will be closed from 20th December through to 12th January 2026 but...
We have current availability now for PSYCHOLOGY (currently Wednesday only and all of our Psychology - paediatric, teenage and adult - is via telehealth. We accept NDIS, private, Medicare and other clients. If you have been looking for psychology support from the comfort of your own home, now is the time as appointments will be limited in 2026.

We also have current availability for our Speech Pathology clients (also telehealth only) and starting with parent only sessions and/or parent programs for children under the age of two years in mid-January. This is a time for you to fill in the Speech Pathologist about your child's speech journey). We do not have availability this year but we have limited availability starting in January 2026.

Our therapists are qualified, experienced and familiar with telehealth. If you need support to try telehealth, we offer a free 15 minute introduction with your administration staff.
