Why a Prosthetic Eye Is Medically Essential—Not Just Cosmetic

When someone loses an eye, a prosthetic is about much more than appearance.
Here’s why a custom prosthetic eye is vital for physical health:

✨ Prevents the socket from shrinking and changing shape
✨ Supports natural eyelid movement and blinking
✨ Reduces irritation, dryness, and risk of infection
✨ Maintains facial structure and muscle tone
✨ Shields delicate tissues, restoring comfort

Without a prosthesis, people can face chronic pain, repeated infections, and even permanent changes to their face and eye socket.

At Oculus Prosthetics, we don’t just restore confidence—we protect your health.
If you or someone you love is facing eye loss, know that a prosthetic eye is a medically necessary step for long-term wellbeing.

It has been a mega year of juggling trips to China starting another company and making sure I keep true to my eye clients. What do I mean by “True to my eye clients”. Affording them the time and attention they deserve. Ending the year with a review like this means everything to me. I don’t take on many children because of the time needed to serve them and their parents fairly. Mali was a special case that I felt I was meant to help. A lot of fun and we both learnt a lot.
