Sometimes a community has the chance to show what it truly values.

If you've ever walked into One Rustic Bloom, chances are you know Michelle.

For more than nine years, Michelle has built One Rustic Bloom into far more than a florist and gift shop. She's created a welcoming space that has become part of the fabric of our community...

Under the care of Michelle, it has become a place where customers feel welcome, friendships have been formed, and the community has always come first. She welcomed customers with care, built genuine relationships, and become a much loved part of our village. It has earned a reputation for exceptional service, professionalism and commitment to the local community.

Following recent events surrounding community discussions about antisocial behaviour in our village, after more than six years serving the Vasse community, Michelle has been told that One Rustic Bloom must vacate its current premises within 30 days. Like many of you, we've watched her share this journey openly, honestly and with incredible strength.

This business isn't closing. Michelle is not walking away.

Despite the challenges ahead, Michelle is committed to relocating, reopening, and continuing to serve the community that has supported her for more than nine years.

Behind every small business is a person. For Michelle, this isn't just about moving a shop...it's about protecting everything she has spent years building.

If you've watched Michelle's socials over the past few weeks, you'll know one thing...she isn't giving up.

She's already searching for new premises, making new plans for One Rustic Bloom, and doing everything she can to keep serving the community she loves.

As many small business owners know, relocating isn't as simple as loading a truck. Michelle must now fund the entire move while continuing to meet existing financial commitments, and the enormous financial pressure that comes with an unexpected move. The costs of vacating the current premises, storing stock and fixtures, securing and fitting out a new location, and surviving the months of disrupted trade would be daunting for any small business.

Our goal is simple: to help ease that burden.

By coming together as a community, we can help ensure that this much-loved local business can focus on rebuilding its future rather than carrying the full financial weight of starting again.

Michelle is moving forward with determination. Together, we can make sure she doesn't have to carry the financial weight of this relocation alone.

Why We're Raising Funds

Michelle now faces significant costs including:

Returning the current premises to the required "make good" condition.
Removal and transport of shop fittings and equipment.
Packing, moving and storing stock and fixtures while waiting for new premises.
Ongoing rent and business expenses during the transition.
Loss of income while the business is unable to trade.
Fitting out a new premises from scratch.
New shelving, displays and retail fixtures.
New signage, branding and marketing to let customers know where to find the business.
Increased rent and operating costs associated with larger available premises.
Professional services, permits and other unexpected relocation expenses.
Purchasing additional stock required to adequately fill a larger retail space.
Cash flow support while rebuilding trade in the new location.

Suitable premises are larger, more expensive, and may not even be available for handover until later in the year, meaning there could be an extended period where she is unable to trade.

Every dollar raised will go directly towards helping Michelle relocate One Rustic Bloom, reduce the financial pressure of the move, and get the doors open again as quickly as possible.

Why This Matters

Small businesses are more than shops.

They employ locals, support community events, sponsor local organisations and they create places where people connect.

When we lose independent businesses, we lose part of what makes our community unique.

This is about standing beside someone who has spent years standing beside us and ensuring that one forced decision doesn't bring an end to years of hard work, dedication and service.

Every Contribution Helps

Whether you can contribute $10 or $1,000, every donation will help ease the financial burden of relocating, allowing this much-loved local business to focus on reopening its doors and continuing to serve the community for many years to come.

If you can't donate, please consider sharing this to raise awareness and extend our reach.

A Message from the Community

The overwhelming support shown by local residents over recent weeks has demonstrated just how much this business means to so many people and now we have an opportunity to turn words of support into practical help.

As she begins the next chapter, we can showcase what community actually looks like, and let her know she isn't doing this alone.

For more than nine years, Michelle has poured her heart and soul into One Rustic Bloom and into this community.

Thank you for standing behind local business.

Michelle Knipe is totally going kill me for this but....

Speaking up for your community should not cost you your business.

Michelle at One Rustic Bloom is now facing the loss of her space after her lease was not renewed, following her decision to speak out about ongoing antisocial behaviour.

She raised her voice because she cared about the safety, wellbeing and future of this community.

Now, it is our turn to stand beside her.

Follow along, share her story and help remind local business owners that they are not alone when they choose to speak up.

I have created a GoFundMe to support her through this incredibly difficult time.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help he relocate, reopen and move forward.

Please donate through the GoFundMe link and share it with your community.

Let’s show what local support really looks like.

I have written to the State Government seeking funding for CCTV cameras at Vasse Village, following concerns raised by local business owners and community members about ongoing crime and antisocial behaviour.

Business owners have told me they're dealing with smashed glass, vandalism, drug use, abuse and intimidation, leaving many feeling unsafe at work. That simply isn't good enough.

Our local police do a fantastic job, but they need the right tools to help deter crime, identify offenders and keep our community safe. CCTV would be an effective way to support their work and provide greater peace of mind for local businesses, workers and visitors.

As Vasse continues to grow, with more families moving into the area, new residential developments and a new primary school on the way, it's essential that community safety keeps pace.

The City of Busselton missed out on the last round of CCTV funding. I'm calling on the State Government to provide the support our community needs and fund this important project.

Please head on over to the Vasse and Districts Community Centre and like and follow.
