💛 💛 Yesterday we recognised R U OK? Day - with a sea of yellow, laughter and togetherness.

Yellow, the colour of the day, brightened our home as everyone proudly participated. Even our donuts and cakes joined in the fun, iced in sunshine yellow with happy smiley faces swirled across the donuts!

But beneath the colour and celebration was a simple, important message: R U OK?

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are quiet ones — sitting together, sharing a laugh, or simply being present. Asking, genuinely listening, and making space for someone else’s story is a gift we can all give.

Because showing we care starts with asking — and truly listening to the answer. 💛 💛

💙 A Father’s Day to Remember! 💙

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating the special men in our community! Our dads were truly the heroes of the day, enjoying delicious treats, a selection of refreshing zero-alcohol drinks, plenty of smiles and, of course, some fantastic music.

Our entertainer brought the room to life, singing favourites like Sweet Caroline and Delilah, while jigging along with his infectious energy and joy. Before long, residents and staff were smiling, bopping and joining in the fun!

A huge thank you to our RAO team, staff all dressed in blue and everyone who helped make the afternoon so memorable. Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful dads for making it such a joyful celebration!” 💙🎶

For Father’s Day, the residents and staff at Wahroonga came together for a heartfelt celebration – a good old-fashioned BBQ in the garden.

Surrounded by family, residents celebrated this special day alongside their husbands, fathers, grandparents, and great grandfather’s.

What a gorgeous day God blessed us with!

The sunshine, the laughter, and the love shared across generations made it truly awesome.

Thank you for all the staff who organised this special event.

A Blessed Father’s Day

Today, we give thanks for all the fathers in our homes and villages celebrating the love, wisdom, strength and care you have shared throughout your lives. May God bless you with a day filled with love, joy and precious memories made.

We also hold in our prayers the fathers among our staff, the fathers of our staff, and all those special men who, through love, kindness, guidance and presence, have been a father figure to others.

May God’s abundant blessings rest upon each of you.

Wishing you all a truly wonderful, loving and happy Father’s Day.

🏃🏾‍♀️Running for a Great Cause🏃🏽‍♀️

Congratulations to the amazing, Helen!

Last weekend, Helen took on the incredible challenge of competing the Sydney Marathon running for 4 and half hours in support for a great charitable cause.

Her determination, strength are truly inspiring. She showed that when we run in purpose and caring heart, every step can make a difference.

Very proud of you Helen! Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

A Magical Book Week Celebration

Last week, we brought the magic of Book Week to life as our staff dressed up as their favourite characters, much to the delight of our residents.

We had Cookie Monsters, a bright pink crayon, Robin Hood and his merry people 🏹💚, Jessie the cowgirl from Toy Story and plenty of other colourful characters making their way around our home.

The mission? To cheer, surprise and brighten the day!

With yummy snacks, plenty of smiles and more than a few belly laughs, the day was filled with fun, laughter and wonderful moments shared. 🤠

Most importantly, these days give residents something special to look forward to and enjoy together. ✨

Our World, Our Home

Last week, we celebrated World Map Day when our big wall map came alive surrounded by colourful flags, each one proudly displaying the face of a resident and their country of origin.

It was wonderful to see how many journeys, cultures and stories are represented among our residents and staff—from places near and far. Our origins help shape our identity, while diversity reminds us that every person has a unique story and history to embrace.

Days like this help us to create a place of inclusion, where every culture is valued and our shared world, our heritage, brings enrichment to our daily lives – how amazing!

Recently Aged Care Employee day was acknowledged at both our sites in a meaningful way that put the spotlight on all our wonderful people. At Kings Langley, Director of Care Savanthie led the celebrations with tributes, awards and plenty of joy, recognising team members nominated by residents and their peers for their dedication and outstanding contributions.

At Wahroonga, Director of Care Roshan brought everyone together to recognise and celebrate team members whose compassion, commitment and care make such a difference to our residents.

Across both sites, it was a purposeful opportunity to pause, reflect and say a heartfelt thank you to the people who give so much to those in their care — each team celebrating in their own special way.

Recognition is something we value deeply, because every person has an important part to play in making our homes and villages places where residents truly feel at home. It is found in the quiet, one-on-one moments of care, the conversations that bring a smile, the laughter shared and the countless small gestures that bring joy to our residents, their families and friends.

From the people who tend our beautiful grounds, keep our homes clean and welcoming, ensure fresh linen, fix the little things, care for residents, listen and encourage as chaplains, keep everything ticking through administration, and help residents stay strong through nutritious meals and daily physiotherapy — every role matters.

Every act of kindness, every helping hand and every moment of care adds to the lives of the people we support. Every contribution is valued, recognised and important.

On behalf of our residents and staff, I want to thank you for the blessing our facility with your presence on the Sabbath.
Your joyful music, beautiful hymns, and your warm smiles created a truly spiritual atmosphere that touched every heart.
Many of our residents were uplifted as they sang along and joined in worship with you.
It was a special time of fellowship, praises, encouragement, reminding us of God’s love and the hope we share in Him.

Thank you for sharing your gifts so generously and for ministering to our residents in such a meaningful way.
We pray that God will richly bless each member of the Waitara Ukulele Choir as you continue to serve Him through music.

🎶 Music Brings Us Together 🎸❤️

Today was filled with smiles, music, and wonderful memories at Adventist Aged Care Wahroonga!

A heartfelt thank you to our care staff member, Raymon, who generously shared his musical talent by singing beautiful songs and playing the guitar for our residents. It was truly heartwarming to see so many residents singing along, smiling, and enjoying the performance.

Moments like these remind us that creating meaningful experiences isn't limited to one team—everyone has the ability to brighten a resident's day. Whether it's through music, conversation, or simply spending time together, small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Thank you, Raymon, for bringing joy to our residents and demonstrating the compassionate spirit that makes our community so special.
