A bit about death cafes…
They’re not so scary.

The Death Cafe concept began in Switzerland in the 2000s to help people "make the most of our finite lives". Now, the concept has spread globally.

So I've gone and written a whole book about dying, and now I have to do the genuinely scary bit — ask for help.
I spent six years writing this thing and about six minutes learning how to crowdfund it, so bear with me.

Have a squiz at the video — that's what Bill called "the Billy experience": charming his doctors, pulling them up when they got it wrong, and philosophising about death from a cancer waiting room like it was the most natural thing in the world. (To him, it was.) The whole book is like that — his actual words and mine, side by side. From what the two of us were to each other (which never did have a name) to the messy, funny, heartbreaking business of dying well. Raw, funny and deeply human.

"The Bird and Bee" is live on Kickstarter and we're already 38% of the way there. Every pledge gets us closer — and if you back it now, you keep the money where it belongs: with a struggling artist, not the greedy corporate thieves. Lol.

Seriously though — you know you're going to buy it eventually. Might as well be a hero about it.🐦🐝 Back it now.

A soul mate story

Palliative Care is in full swing. Do you have questions?

"How can one conversation change your care?
A good conversation about palliative care does two things. It helps the people around you understand your
healthcare preferences, and it tells services what to prioritise. That might include comfort, where you would like to be cared for, cultural or spiritual needs, and who you want involved
in decisions, so care lines up with what matters most. Advice, tools and support at palliativecare.org.au
