The team had a change of scenery last week. A great couple of days with the team learning all things assistive technology at . There are so many fabulous, new and innovative things coming to market!

Last week at Elk Health our team has been busy supporting clients across the community.

Here’s a snapshot of what our week has looked like:
✈️ One of our Occupational Therapists flew from Newcastle to Brisbane to complete an assessment for a client.
♿ Another OT is assisting a client with a wheelchair upgrade to improve their independence and daily mobility.
📝 One of our clinicians is completing a Functional Capacity Assessment and report for an NDIS participant with Down syndrome to support a plan review and request additional supports.
🌏 Our Therapy Assistant is currently on leave exploring Japan (we love seeing our team enjoy their downtime!).
📞 And of course, our incredible Client Services Officer is keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Community-based occupational therapy means every day is different, and we feel privileged to support our clients to live more independently in the environments that matter most to them.

Between us you’ll find coffee lovers, list‑makers, big feelers, quiet thinkers and serial problem‑solvers who are all united by the same thing: helping people feel safer, more confident and more independent in their everyday lives.

Today our team came together in the beautiful Muloobinba boardroom at in Newcastle for a full training day. With team members based across different regions, from Sunshine Coast to NSW Central Coast, it was fantastic to have everyone in the same room.

We spent the day:

✔ Deep-diving into our new Practice Management system

✔ Reconnecting with our values and how we live them every day

✔ Sharing updates

✔ Welcoming new team members

✔ Taking part in a photo shoot to refresh our website, ID cards and individual profiles

Bringing our hybrid teams together is really important to us. These days strengthen relationships, support collaboration and ensure we stay aligned in how we work for the people and communities we support.

We were also spoiled with delicious catering by Ms Mary at Crystalbrook Kingsley.

Behind the scenes we have been in training mode, upskilling now, with more learning to come, so we can keep bringing fresh ideas back to the people we work with and welcoming new staff.

Lots of small steps. Lots of real‑life wins.

Independence doesn't look the same at 25, 55 and 85.

At 25 it might be: getting back to work after an injury or meeting a partner
At 65: keeping up with the grandkids or making your home more accessible
At 85: making your own cuppa safely and staying at home
