💙 Why I chose to work at a Drug & Alcohol Clinic 💙 Since 2018, I’ve had the privilege of working at a drug and alcohol clinic—a calling that feels both deeply personal and profoundly important to me. I’ve always believed in the power of second chances and the resilience of the human spirit. When the opportunity arose to support people on their recovery journeys, I knew I’d found a place where I could make a real difference.
One of the most challenging aspects of this work is witnessing the weight many patients carry—the trauma, setbacks, and moments when hope seems distant. But these are also the moments that make this work incredibly rewarding. Seeing someone reclaim their life, rediscover their strength, and start to believe in a future they thought was out of reach is nothing short of inspiring. Every day, I’m reminded of the resilience and bravery within each person I work with. 💪
Balancing my roles—as a clinician, a mum, and a business owner—isn’t easy, but each role brings invaluable meaning to my life. I stay organised, set boundaries, and stay grounded in the “why” behind what I do. It’s about embracing the challenge and finding joy in every role I take on. 💫
One moment that truly impacted me was when a patient, who had been struggling, came in with a newfound sense of hope. They shared a small victory that, to them, was a huge step forward. It was a powerful reminder of the impact compassion and patience can have and why I do this work, even on the toughest days. ❤️
This journey has taught me so much—above all, the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of patience, empathy, and small acts of kindness. Recovery is about so much more than overcoming addiction; it’s about rebuilding hope and rediscovering purpose. I’m honoured to be part of that journey with each person I support.
